SAND: Raiders of Sophie Colored Keys – Every Location and What They Unlock

Exact spots for the Green, Blue, Red, White, Black, and Dreadnaught keys, plus the loot each one opens.

Exact spots for the Green, Blue, Red, White, Black, and Dreadnaught keys, plus the loot each one opens.

Colored keys in SAND: Raiders of Sophie gate the best safes, loot rooms, and black boxes on the map. Each key is a separate consumable that matches one type of locked container, and some lower-tier keys are required to reach the higher-tier ones. Because Sophie uses procedural elements, exact spawn points shift between runs, but the general locations stay fixed.

Quick answer: There are six keys. Grab the Green and Blue keys in Kaizerplats, the Red key in Merzauge (use the Blue key to reach it), the White key in Segen’s bank, the Black key in the basement of Fort Istria, and the Dreadnaught key inside the Dreadnaught’s loot room during Storm Dive mode.

Keys rarely sit out in the open. They tend to hide inside named locations, on desks, in secret rooms, or on high-tier human NPCs. Clear the local enemies first, then search the specific spot listed below.

KeyLocationWhere to look
Green KeyKaizerplats (Kaiser Flood)Head to the Town Hall at the highest point of the city. Strong chance to spawn inside.
Blue KeyKaizerplatsEnter the large mansion in the upper corner, open the first door on the left, and take the key from the desk.
Red KeyMerzaugeFind the small hut by the port that leads to the main deck. Use the Blue Key to open the door, then grab it from the chair inside.
White KeySegenGo into the bank and climb to the second floor. It sits on the table to the left.
Black KeyFort IstriaReach the basement and blow open the blocked entrance with C4. Can also drop from elite military commanders and sector bosses.
Dreadnaught KeyThe DreadnaughtBlow open the entrance to the loot room, then jump across from the opposite platform. Only available in Storm Dive mode.

Note: The Red Key depends on the Blue Key, so pick up the Blue Key in Kaizerplats before you travel to Merzauge. The Black and Dreadnaught keys both require explosives to reach their rooms, so carry C4 if you plan to open them.

What each key unlocks

Every key is tied to a specific container tier. Green sits at the bottom as the most common option, while Black and Dreadnaught sit at the top and lead to the strongest endgame rewards.

KeyWhat it opens
Green KeyStandard loot rooms, boxes, and safes in smaller POIs and boats. Reliable for crafting resources and mid-tier weapons.
Blue, Red, and White KeysMid-to-high-tier doors and containers in residential and industrial POIs, usually inside offices or areas held by mid-tier elite enemies. Often needed to reach the next key.
Black KeyRare black boxes hidden in secret rooms and inside the Bismarck, the massive central fortress that holds legendary gear and weapons.
Dreadnaught KeyThe Dreadnaught loot room, home to some of the best items in the game.

How to use keys and secure the loot

Carry the matching key to its container and clear the surrounding area first. Unlocking takes several seconds and leaves you exposed to both AI and rival Raiders.
Open the container and move its contents straight into your inventory. You know it worked when the lock releases and the loot becomes lootable.
Head back toward your Trampler and extract. Keys and any unopened boxes are dropped on death, so other players can take them from your remains. Only carry keys relevant to the sector you are raiding, since holding them raises your risk and eats inventory space.

Finding a Black Key changes your whole run. Once you hold one, you become a high-value target, and the natural next step is a trip to the Bismarck for its central vault. That fortress is heavily contested by geared squads and defended by relentless AI, so weigh the payoff against the odds of getting ambushed before you commit.
