The Index is your running record of every scroom you have caught in SCROOMS, broken down by area, rarity and the three tones each creature can be caught in. It also tells you how rare the scrooms you are still missing are, before you ever see one in the wild.

Quick answer: Press 3 to open the Index, pick an area tab on the left, and read the “Completion: N%” figure at the top. Click any card to see its rarity, frequency range and which of its three tones you have caught.

Open the Index from hotbar slot 3

The Index occupies slot 3 on your hotbar, between the Equipment Bag and the Quest Log. Tap 3 to display it. Its window bears the title “Index”; click the red X in the corner to close it.

Down the left side are the area tabs. You start with “World” and “Songkeeper’s Grove”, followed by four tabs that read “???” until you discover those areas. Each discovered area gets its own page of scrooms.

Reading an area page and its completion percentage

At the top of each area page, the area name appears alongside a counter reading “Completion: N%”. This figure shows the share of that area’s scrooms you have caught. Songkeeper’s Grove contains 15 scrooms; catching 10 gives Completion: 66%.

The area’s entries appear beneath the heading in a scrollable grid, with four cards across each row. A caught scroom has its image and name displayed, while an uncaught entry appears as a black silhouette marked “???”.

The Index open to Songkeeper's Grove at 66 percent with an undiscovered Common Scroom card selected.

Card colour tells you the rarity at a glance, even on silhouettes you have not caught. The five tiers each have their own colour.

What a card’s detail panel shows

Click a card and the right panel fills in. At the top is the rarity heading, written out as “Common Scroom”, “Uncommon Scroom”, “Rare Scroom”, “Wondrous Scroom” or “Fabled Scroom”. Under that sits the frequency range as “Frequency: X Hz – Y Hz”, then the scroom’s name and a short flavour line.

Below the description are two groups. “Stats:” lists your Highest Frequency for that scroom and the Date caught. “Tones:” lists the three tones a scroom can carry, each one showing either “Caught: <date>” or “Uncaught”.

Redcap, read in full

The Redcap entry gives a clear example of every field. It reads as a Common Scroom with a frequency of 18.7 Hz – 31.2 Hz and the flavour line “A red little guy!”. Its Stats show a Highest Frequency of 31.3 Hz and a Date caught of 10/10/2026. Its Tones show Melodic caught on 11/10/2026, Harmonic caught on 11/10/2026, and Resonant still Uncaught.

The three tones and their star markers

Every scroom has three tone slots: Melodic, Harmonic and Resonant. Each is tracked separately, so a scroom can be caught in one tone while the others stay Uncaught, exactly as the Redcap entry shows with its empty Resonant slot.

You do not have to open a card to check your tone progress. Small stars appear on the card itself. A gold star marks a caught Melodic tone, and a cyan star marks a caught Harmonic tone.

Frequency ranges are listed even for scrooms you have not caught

Each undiscovered card retains its rarity heading and frequency range. This lets you check a missing scroom’s rarity and frequency band in the Index before searching for it. Songkeeper’s Grove has five undiscovered cards: a single Rare, three Wondrous cards, and one Fabled card.

Frequency ranges are printed per scroom and differ even within a tier: Redcap and Toastbud are both Common but print 18.7 Hz – 31.2 Hz and 22.5 Hz – 37.5 Hz.

How the Index connects to Titles

The Titles menu mirrors the Index’s area layout. Songkeeper’s Grove appears there as “Songkeeper’s Grove [0/5]” with five titles to earn: The Songkeeper, Grovewalker, Heard in the Branches, Echo of the First Note and Evergreen. Four “Undiscovered Region” groups sit alongside them, matching the four “???” tabs waiting in the Index.

The Index identifies the rarity and frequency range of each undiscovered card, letting you choose your next scroom targets without guessing. In Songkeeper’s Grove, your shortlist is a single Rare, three Wondrous, and one Fabled scroom to raise completion above 66%.
