Search For The Needle
Search For The Needle Events Schedule: Index + Pets and What’s Next
Search For The Needle is a cozy hidden-object game from Garage Games built on one deceptively simple hook: dig through a giant haystack, find the single hidden needle, and beat your best time. That small idea has grown into one of the busier cozy corners of Roblox, and the update calendar is crowded right now — the Index + Pets update is live and a follow-up, Update 3, is already scheduled for September 19, 2026.
The game has moved well past its humble premise. It has pulled in more than about 67,000,000 total visits, holds over about 170,000 favorites from players who keep coming back, and regularly has about 14,000 people searching at the same time — enough to place it among the more popular cozy experiences on the platform.
Index + Pets is the marquee event at the moment, and it has drawn by far the biggest crowd the game has ever lined up. A second update, listed simply as Update 3, is set to take over the moment it ends. Exact start and end times for everything are in the schedule below. Last updated September 24.

Current and upcoming events
Index + Pets
Index + Pets is the new-content update to play right now. It opened at 11:00 AM ET on September 12 (8:00 AM PT / 3:00 PM UTC / 4:00 PM BST) and stays live until 11:00 AM ET on September 19, 2026 — a full-week window, with several days still to go. As the name suggests, it adds a collectible index and pets to the experience.
Interest has been enormous by this game’s standards: more than about 790,000 players flagged that they planned to jump in, the largest turnout Search For The Needle has recorded for a single update. Because it is a content drop rather than a limited weekend mode, it adds things to work through instead of a short-lived event, so there is no rush beyond the closing date.
x2 Luck and x2 Gems
Alongside it, a brief bonus ran on September 13, 2026: x2 Luck + x2 Gems doubled both luck and gem earnings for one hour only, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET (10:00 AM to 11:00 AM PT / 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM UTC). Over about 43,000 players marked interest — a fraction of the headline update’s turnout, which fit its much shorter, grind-focused window.
Update 3
Next on the calendar is Update 3, scheduled to run from September 19 through September 26, 2026. It begins at 11:00 AM ET on September 19 (8:00 AM PT / 3:00 PM UTC / 4:00 PM BST) — the same late-morning start time the game favors — and picks up right as Index + Pets closes. The developer has it slotted in but hasn’t detailed what it contains yet, so for now it stands as a placeholder for the next drop.
It is already the biggest thing on the horizon, with over about 690,000 players signed up ahead of time. Its timing continues a pattern of fresh updates arriving about once a week: a Classes update that added perks landed in late August, a new ending came and went around the same time, and the current Index + Pets run followed — so new drops have been coming thick and fast.
