Trees planted in the Orchard area of Sell Lemons can pick up mutations that change the value and power level of the fruit they produce. A mutation is decided when a tree reaches maturity, it carries over to every fruit that tree grows, and it cannot be changed afterward. Eating mutated fruit is what turns an ordinary lemon into a buff, so the strongest effects always come from the trees that rolled the best mutations.
Quick answer: Grow a tree until it matures, check which mutation it rolled, then eat fruit with a positive mutation to gain that buff. Sell any fruit carrying negative mutations for tokens instead of eating it, since eating it lowers your income or slows your growth.
How mutations attach to your trees
Mutations occur naturally as trees grow, and there is no cap on how many a single tree can hold at once. Duplicates are allowed, so one tree can stack the same effect more than once. The catch is timing. A tree locks in its mutations the moment it hits maturity, and nothing you do after that will alter them.
Because every fruit inherits the parent tree’s mutations, you decide what to do with a harvest by reading the tree first. Fruit with helpful mutations goes into your character for buffs. Fruit loaded with negative mutations is worth more sold than eaten. Planting more trees raises your total output and gives you more chances to land a strong roll like Perfect or Exotic.

Add to Google Preferences →All positive Orchard mutations and their buffs
Fourteen positive mutations can appear on your trees. Each one raises the fruit’s value, its power level, or grants a character buff when eaten. The income boosts, luck effects, and speed buffs below all trigger from eating a fruit that carries the listed mutation.
| Mutation | Effect when eaten |
|---|---|
| Pure | 1.25x Mutation Luck — raises your chance of rolling better mutations on future trees. |
| Zesty | 1x Income Speed from all sources. |
| Tart | 1.5x Income Speed from all sources. |
| Wild | 4x Income Speed from all sources. |
| Fast | 2x Growth Speed for your Orchard trees. |
| Stimulating | 2x Walk Speed for your character. |
| Tasty | 1.5x Global Cash from all sources. |
| Juicy | 2x Global Cash from all sources. |
| Exotic | 4x Global Cash from all sources. |
| Perfect | 8.8x Global Cash from all sources. |
| Voided | 3x Void Synergy — boosts income speed during the Blackhole Event. |
| Slimy | Transforms your character into an alien. |
| Giant | 1.5x Huge — a 50% increase to your character’s size. |
| Lucky | 3x Luck Spread — increases Orchard luck. |
Perfect gives the biggest single cash jump at 8.8x Global Cash, with Exotic and Wild close behind for pushing income. If you want faster harvests rather than more money, Fast doubles growth speed, which feeds directly back into how many fruits you can mutate in the same window.
Negative mutations to sell instead of eat
Some mutations work against you. Eating fruit with these lowers your income, drops your income speed, or slows your trees. When a tree rolls one or several of these, harvest the fruit and sell it for tokens to recover value rather than swallowing the penalty.
| Mutation | Effect when eaten |
|---|---|
| Draining | 0.8x Global Cash — reduces income from all sources. |
| Lazy | 0.8x Income Speed — slows income from all sources. |
| Heavy | 0.8x Income Speed — slows income from all sources. |
| Dense | 0.6x Income Speed — a larger income speed cut. |
| Slow | 0.5x Growth Speed — halves your plants’ growth rate. |
Tip: A tree can carry both positive and negative mutations at once, so weigh the roll as a whole before eating. If the drawbacks outweigh a weak buff, the fruit is better off sold.
Working the mutation loop
The Orchard event window
Mutations only exist while the Orchard event is running. It is a timed release from BloxByte Games with a fixed start and end, so every buff and token you want has to be earned before it closes. When the end time hits, the Orchard features are removed.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Start | Friday, July 3, 5:00 PM |
| End | Monday, July 27, 5:00 PM |
| Host | BloxByte Games |
Note: These clock times are listed without a stated time zone. Check the start and end against your own local Roblox event listing so you know exactly when the Orchard opens and closes for you. If the event is live but the Orchard is not showing up, rejoin a fresh server, since timed events take a short while to reach every instance and reconnecting usually drops you onto an updated one where planting and mutations are available.
Treat the whole run as a limited window. Keep planting, eat the fruit that rolled the buffs you want, and bank tokens from everything else before the July 27 close removes the Orchard entirely.
