Where to buy and how to get notified

The only confirmed launch platform is PC via Steam. No console versions for PS5, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch have been announced, and the game has not been listed for Xbox Game Pass, PS Plus, or Nintendo Switch Online.

Adding the game to your wishlist triggers a Steam notification when it unlocks, so you do not have to watch the clock.

A free demo is also available on Steam ahead of launch, letting you test the core systems before you buy. The demo has been updated several times during development, including a substantial rework of the exploration gameplay.

What you get at launch

The Early Access build ships with all key features in place. You get two distinct pathways, each with unique characters and around 300 explore and combat cards, plus multiple quests, synergies, and unlocks built for repeat runs.

The core loop centers on the double-deckbuilding system. One deck handles combat, letting you hack, slash, and roast fungal enemies. The second deck handles exploration, which you use to reveal, break, unlock, and navigate the dungeons of The Gloom. Cards can be grown and modified without a fixed cap, turning weak starter cards into heavy attacks or rare cards into overpowered weapons.

Defeated enemies double as ingredients. You can eat them to restore health or toss them into a pot to brew soups that change how a run plays out.

How long Early Access will last

Team Lazerbeam plans to spend between 12 and 24 months in Early Access. During that period, the studio intends to add a new pathway with its own explore and combat cards, more character classes, and additional quests and challenges across existing pathways. The price is not expected to change between Early Access and the full 1.0 release.

The game has built a sizable audience going into launch, passing 200,000 Steam wishlists and more than 100,000 demo downloads. If the timing shifts before Thursday, the unlock will still be tied to the Steam store countdown, so the wishlist notification remains the most reliable way to know the exact moment it goes live.
