Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon: How to Play All Three Activities in Genshin Impact 7.1

A rundown of the rules, objectives, and rewards for the Moonchase Festival's runner, combat, and brick-breaker mini-games.

A rundown of the rules, objectives, and rewards for the Moonchase Festival’s runner, combat, and brick-breaker mini-games.

In Genshin Impact Version 7.1, Liyue’s returning Moonchase Festival centers on Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon, its main event featuring three distinct mini-games. Since every activity follows its own rules, learning how each one awards points is the quickest route to completing objectives and claiming the free 4-star sword Silver Light.

Quick answer: The three activities are The Great Chase and Dispelling (a runner course), Banner Against the Dark (timed combat), and Spiritshot Salvo (a brick-breaker mode). Clear each stage’s listed objectives to collect Festive Cheer and event rewards.

Requirements to unlock the event

Before any of the mini-games open, your account needs to meet the entry conditions and finish a short unlock quest.

  • Reach Adventure Rank 20 or higher.
  • Complete Archon Quest Prologue Act 3, The Song of the Dragon and Freedom.
  • Read Xiangling’s Letter, which arrives in your inventory automatically.
  • Travel to Yilong Wharf in Chenyu Vale and speak with Xiangling to finish the quest Another Auspicious Moonlit Night Rolls Around.

The Escoffier and Yumemizuki Mizuki Story Quests are optional, but finishing them first gives the event’s story more context. They are not needed to play the activities.

The Great Chase and Dispelling: guide the rattan figure

This is the time-trial runner. You steer the Lan Yan rattan figure down a set course, collecting Adeptal Energy and reaching the finish before time runs out. The first stage, Fading Shadows in Mingyun Village, sits southeast of Mingyun Village, near the Hidden Palace of Lianshan Formula.

Your score, called the Challenge Rating, decides which rewards you claim. Yellow orbs add Adeptal Energy, while dark purple Miasmic Energy drains points unless you clear it. The figure’s Protection skill is a forward dash that cancels miasma, and it runs on Battle Energy.

Gates and buffs along the track shape your run. Learn what each one does before chasing a high rating.

  • Adeptal Energy gates feed your score total.
  • Battle Energy gates refill the meter used for the Protection dash.
  • Absorption (orange) pulls nearby Adeptal and Battle Energy toward you.
  • Empowerment (green) shields you from miasma without spending the Protection skill.
  • Multiplier gates raise your score gain, such as x1.5 or x2.

Stage 1 rewards unlock at Challenge Ratings of 1000, 2000, and 4000. A finished run shows a results screen with all three objectives ticked off against your final score.

This is the combat activity. You bring a four-character party and deal as much damage as possible before the total three-minute timer expires. Higher difficulty raises the score multiplier, with Hard applying an x6 boost.

The fight runs in two phases, and the tutorial cards lay out the banner energy levels before you start.

Phase 1 gives you 60 seconds to defeat standard enemies such as Ruin Guards and Rockfond Rifthounds. Clearing them charges the deployed spirit-quelling banner up to Lv. 2.

Phase 2 brings out the boss, the Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device, alongside summoned banner allies like the Cryocrystal Iktomisaurus Cannoneer. Repeatedly depleting the boss’s HP bars before the three-minute timer ends is what drives your score up.

Against the Overseer Device, using consecutive Cryo attacks slows the boss’s Flow Momentum buildup, which keeps it from ramping up its defenses.

The results screen confirms your run by listing the difficulty, the total number of boss HP bars depleted, and your final score.

Spiritshot Salvo: the brick-breaker mode

Spiritshot Salvo plays like an arcade brick-breaker. You aim an auto-firing spirit orb at descending blocks and spirit cubes, then survive through waves until a final boss appears. Bouncing shots off walls raises their flight speed and damage, so ricochet angles matter more than raw firing.

Defeated enemies drop Spirit Power, which levels you up and lets you pick a new elemental Spiritshot. The base elements combine into hybrid shots as you progress.

  • Base elements: Hydro, Electro, Pyro, and Anemo Spiritshots.
  • Fusions include Anemo-Electro, Pyro-Anemo, Hydro-Anemo, and Electro-Hydro shots.
  • Battle Talismans add passive boosts like direct hit damage, movement speed, and attack rate.

The first stage, The Shrouded Path, sets three objectives: defeat 50 opponents, defeat the enemy boss, and finish with your Vitality intact. Losing all Vitality ends the run early, so dodging incoming bullet patterns during the boss wave is as important as landing shots. The stage-clear screen verifies each objective and your clear time.

Rewards and the free Silver Light sword

Every activity pays out Festive Cheer, the currency that unlocks the event’s headline rewards. Reaching 200 Festive Cheer grants the 4-star sword Silver Light, and pushing toward 1000 nets its refinement material, the Tea-Scented Tassel. The full track also hands out Primogems, a Crown of Insight, Mora, and ascension materials.

Festive CheerKey reward
200Silver Light (4-star sword)
40030 Primogems, Tea-Scented Tassel
100030 Primogems, Tea-Scented Tassel, furnishing blueprint
120030 Primogems, Crown of Insight

Silver Light is an event-exclusive reward. Do not spend Primogems on wishes trying to pull it; clearing the activities is the only way to get it.

Event window and stage schedule

The event runs from September 24 to October 12, 2026. Stages release on a staggered schedule rather than all at once, so new challenges open across the first several days.

DateWhat unlocks
Sep 24Stage 1 of all three activities
Sep 25Great Chase Stage 2, Banner Stage 2
Sep 26Great Chase Stage 3, Banner Stage 3, Spiritshot Stage 2
Sep 27Great Chase Stage 4, Banner Stage 4
Sep 28Great Chase Stage 5, Banner Stage 5, Spiritshot Stages 3 & 4

Because rewards are tied to a limited window, it helps to clear each stage as it opens rather than saving everything for the final days. Once you cross 200 Festive Cheer, Silver Light lands in your inventory, and the reward track keeps paying Primogems and materials as you keep playing.
