Skull Rock is a Burning Blade cave tucked into the cliffs of northeastern Durotar, sitting just east and slightly south of Orgrimmar’s walls near the coast. It is the same cave named in the Horde spy chain, and it is close enough to the capital that you can walk there in under a minute.

Quick answer: Skull Rock is in northeastern Durotar at roughly 55, 11, along the coast east of Orgrimmar. Leave the city’s eastern gate, follow the shoreline, and the cave mouth is set into the red cliffs.

Where Skull Rock is located in Durotar

The cave lies against Durotar’s eastern coastline, north of the Margoz camp and directly east of Orgrimmar, with Razor Hill sitting to the southwest. It is one of several Burning Blade holdouts in the zone and belongs to the Bladefist Bay area of the map. The entrance is carved into the mountain ridge that runs down to the sea.

Open your world map before you set off. The cave sits right on the coastal edge, so lining up the marker at 55, 11 keeps you from overshooting into the water.

How to reach Skull Rock from Orgrimmar

Leave Orgrimmar through the eastern gate. This drops you straight onto the Durotar coast, facing the stretch of red cliffs that hold the cave.
Follow the shoreline as it curves toward the water. Keep the cliffs on your right and the sea on your left until you spot the dark cave mouth set into the rock.

Head inside at the entrance near 55, 10. The cave opens up quickly and the Burning Blade cultists begin almost at the mouth, so you will be in combat range within a few steps.

What waits inside Skull Rock

The cave is packed tightly with Burning Blade cultists, and they respawn fast, so expect near-constant fighting once you are inside. The mobs are low-level humanoids clustered close together, which makes solo pulling tricky and grouping worthwhile.

  • Burning Blade Fanatic (Level 11)
  • Burning Blade Apprentice (Level 10–11)
  • Burning Blade Cultist (Level 9)

These cultists are the reason most players come here. They carry the Searing Collars for the H [12] Skull Rock quest and the Lieutenant’s Insignia for Hidden Enemies, both of which are picked up from Thrall’s questline and the Margoz camp nearby. Clearing the cave once can cover both objectives.

You will know you have reached the right place when the subzone label reads Skull Rock on your mini-map and the interior fills with Burning Blade enemies. From there the coast route back to Orgrimmar is short, making this one of the most convenient farm caves in the early Horde zones.
