Skydrummer in Arknights: Endfield - Location, stats, and enraged mechanic

The Skydrummer is a wildlife Alpha-class enemy in Arknights: Endfield, introduced alongside the At the Wake of Spring version. It is a howlerbeast native to Talos-II, identified by the thick membranes around its head and neck that let it release shockwave-like howls. Players hunting for it right now will only find it in a very specific zone tied to the new region.

📍
Quick answer: The Skydrummer spawns in the Energy Alluvium: Test Area, part of the new Wuling region content added with version 1.2. It does not appear in any earlier zone.

Where to find the Skydrummer

The only confirmed spawn location is the Energy Alluvium inside the Test Area. This is one of the freshly opened zones tied to the Wuling expansion, alongside the Marker Stone region. If a farming planner or drop tracker is pointing you toward the Skydrummer but you cannot see it on the map, the reason is simple: the zone that contains it unlocks as you progress through the new version's exploration content, so the enemy is not reachable from older areas in Valley IV or Wuling City.

The creature is a ground-based wildlife unit rather than an Aggeloi or Landbreaker, which sets it apart from most common enemies you have been fighting up to now. Expect to encounter it while completing missions tied to the Curious Use of Xiranite guide event, which takes place inside the Test Area.

Stats by level

The Skydrummer scales aggressively, jumping from a fragile early-level creature to a heavy-HP target at endgame scaling. Its defense stays flat at 100 across every bracket, meaning damage scaling comes down to your ATK buffs, multipliers, and susceptibility application rather than armor penetration.

Combat profile

Beyond raw HP and ATK, a few combat numbers define how the fight actually feels. The Skydrummer has a 7-meter attack range and a Weight value of 2, which affects how it reacts to lift and crowd-control effects from operators like Gilberta. Its stagger bar is modest, but the recovery window is long enough that a well-timed combo can chain finishers back-to-back.

Stagger HP320
Stagger Recovery9 seconds
Finisher ATK Multiplier1.5x
Finisher SP Gain50
Attack Range7 meters

Resistances are flat across the board. Every damage type, physical and the full arts spread, lands at 1x multiplier, so there is no elemental counter-pick to exploit or avoid. Bring whichever team you have the strongest build for.

The Enraged state

The one mechanic worth preparing for is the Enraged phase. When the Skydrummer drops to low HP, it transitions into an aggressive mode where three things happen at once:

  • It queues its charge-up attacks more frequently.
  • Its damage output increases.
  • It gains a Damage Reduction buff, stretching out the fight.

The counterplay is straightforward. Interrupt it mid charge-up to cancel the Enraged state early. Stagger applications, lifts, and hard CC ultimates like Tangtang's immobilize will all serve here. If you let the Enraged window run, expect significantly longer kill times on higher-level variants because of the layered damage reduction.

⚠️
Note: Missing the interrupt window does not fail the fight, it just slows it down. Physical teams built around Chen Qianyu and Endministrator, or Cryo teams with Last Rite and Tangtang, have the stagger tools to consistently cut the Enraged phase short.

Drops

The Skydrummer is tied to a material called Howlerbeast Braid. The drop is its signature gather, which lines up with its design as a wildlife unit. Expect this to feed into gear or crafting tracks tied to the new Wuling region's Xiranflow and Qingbo gear sets or the expanded pieces for existing sets like Bonekrusha, Frontiers, and Swordmancer.

Why it might not show up for you yet

If the enemy is missing from your map entirely, that is expected behavior. Content in the At the Wake of Spring version unlocks gradually as exploration progresses. The Energy Alluvium: Test Area is gated behind story and exploration steps in the Wuling region, so accounts that have not yet reached the relevant point in Chapter II or the new exploration missions simply cannot access the Skydrummer spawn. Work through the Main Missions up to Chapter II Process VI, the Purification Node, and OD Project: Remediation Station steps, and the zone will open up.

Once the Test Area is accessible, the Skydrummer becomes farmable like any other wildlife encounter, and it slots cleanly into the usual farming loop for the region's essence and crafting materials.
