Roguelike Mastery (live now)
The Roguelike Mastery update expands Slap Battles’ card system. Instead of the usual three-card choice, players pick from six and can hold up to six at once, swapping any of them for fresh options each time they level up. It also folds in a set of cards exclusive to this mode, so no two runs end up with the same deck. It runs through Friday, August 21 at 12:00 PM ET, and has been live for several days with about a short window left before it closes.
Sign-ups sit at about 58,000, making it the busiest of the currently scheduled updates.
Sand Update (next up)
The Sand Update caps off the game’s four-part Seasons arc. With autumn, winter, and spring already behind it, the summer door is the last to open, and the developers have teased that clearing all four rewards a trophy tucked away in Hitman’s office. It goes live Friday, August 21, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET (11:00 AM CT, 10:00 AM MT, 9:00 AM PT; 16:00 UTC) and runs a full week to Friday, August 28. Early interest is already at about 50,000.
The timing is not a coincidence: Slap Battles has held a weekly cadence, with each update opening Friday at 12:00 PM ET and running seven days until the next one takes over. Roguelike Mastery ends and the Sand Update begins at the same moment.
Recently ended
Pim’s Arrival (August 7 to August 14) opened a new domain and handed exclusive rewards to players who were in game when it went live. It was the standout of this stretch, with more than 100,000 sign-ups, the biggest turnout among the recent updates.
Before that, the Mutation Update (July 31 to August 7) added a new entry to the game’s tool lineup and skipped that week’s mastery while the team prepared for Pim’s Arrival. It drew roughly 50,000 sign-ups.
