Breathing Styles set your combat kit in Slayers 2. Each one gives you a full moveset on separate cooldowns plus a passive stat lean, and the style you pick shapes how you handle PvP duels, boss fights, Dungeons, and general farming. Eight styles are available right now, and every one is tied to a specific trainer you have to reach before you can learn it.
Quick answer: The eight Breathing Styles are (1) Flame, (2) Wind, (3) Thunder, (4) Stone, (5) Water, (6) Sound, (7) Serpent, and (8) Insect. First reach level 25 and collect Demon Horns and Beast Cores; next, locate each style’s trainer and finish their training.

What you need before learning a Breathing Style
Only slayers can learn Breathing Styles, so demons are locked out entirely. Every style unlocks at its own trainer once you meet the shared requirements.
- Level 25 on the slayer path.
- A Wen fee, reported between 5,000 and 10,000 Wen depending on the style.
- Give the trainer Demon Horns and Beast Cores.
Material counts vary by style. Serpent asks for 25 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores, while Insect needs 25 Demon Horns and 3 Beast Cores. Stone has an extra step: you must obtain the Axe and Mace, which drops from the Stone Trainee at roughly a 7% rate.
To farm the materials, single Demon Horns drop from Hoyuzo Subordinates in the cave below the cliff near the Mother Bear spawn. High Demons in the snowy Iceveil Valley drop two horns each. Beast Cores come from Beast Born Demons patrolling around Mistfall Village.
Switching styles later costs another full fee and resets your progress, so decide before you commit.

| Style | Focus | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Flame | Damage, range, burst, counter | Boss farming and reactive PvP |
| Wind | Combos, pressure, position control | Technical combo PvP |
| Water | All-round, mobility, defense | Every situation, control PvP |
| Thunder | Speed, mobility, burst | Duels and chasing openings |
| Stone | Armored bruiser, counters | Melee trades and PvE tanking |
| Sound | Area pressure, crowd control | Dungeons and group PvE |
| Serpent | Mobility, single-target pressure | Close-range PvP |
| Insect | Mobility, Poison, combos | Hit-and-run PvP |
Flame is the most well-rounded style, pairing strong damage and range with a counter and reliable follow-ups. Unknowing Fire tracks slammed targets, the held Flame Tiger startup is fast, and the style leans hard into Rengoku clan burn support for farming.
Wind is the combo specialist, built around fast attacks and difficult-to-escape strings. Mountain Wind and Whirlwind Cutter give strict-stun confirms, and Whirlwind Cutter no longer knocks targets away, so V can start a combo instead of ending it. The skill ceiling is high but the pressure is constant once you learn the routes.
Water is the most versatile all-rounder, offering mobility, defensive tools, and clean PvE rotations. Whirl Pool can be used while stunned to interrupt an opponent’s pressure, and Water Wheel’s tap and hold both work as combo links. It does trade some armor for approach i-frames, so timing still matters.
Thunder is an offensive, mobile style with strong burst. Thunder Clap and Flash now start much faster as a punish, though God Speed’s reduced travel and shorter finisher stuns mean older routes need retesting. It pairs naturally with the Agatsuma clan.
Stone is a heavy bruiser with a guardbreak option and an armored ultimate, rewarding players who want durable, aggressive melee. Sound covers a large area and shines in Dungeons and group PvE, and works with the Uzui clan in PvP. Serpent thrives on close-range barrages and mobility, with percentage-based damage that helps against tougher enemies. Insect keeps strong combo and Poison pressure with Kocho synergy, but recent changes added slower startups and heavier cooldowns.

Breathing Style trainer locations
Each style has its own trainer scattered across the map, and some spots require a movement ability or item to reach. Once you are level 25 and carrying the right materials, head to the matching trainer below.
| Style | Trainer | Location and access |
|---|---|---|
| Serpent | Obari | Cliff nook on a mountain near the starting spawn |
| Insect | Shinora | Upper ledge on the roof of the main Butterfly Mansion building |
| Flame | Rengu | Rooftop of a house near the Mistfall Village red bridge |
| Water | Urokodaki | Underwater route below the cliff beside the small island house |
| Thunder | Zentaro | Mountain route near Bear Village; needs Wall Climb |
| Stone | Gyorei | Lower route near the bear area / Stone Sanctuary; needs Axe and Mace |
| Wind | Saneri | Snow biome route from the bear area, Iceveil Valley |
| Sound | Tengai | High on the cliffs near the snowy biome, Iceveil Valley |

How to complete training and unlock the style

You know the style is yours once the trainer’s steps are cleared and the moves appear as active skills in the Skill Tree. A newly unlocked skill such as True Flutter showing in your branch confirms the style is learned and ready to level up through Mastery.
