SpaceCraft Knowledge Permit Tree: All Modules, Components, and Credit Costs

Every Knowledge Permit module in SpaceCraft, what each one unlocks, and the credit cost to research it.

Every Knowledge Permit module in SpaceCraft, what each one unlocks, and the credit cost to research it.

Progression in SpaceCraft runs through the Knowledge Permit tree. Each permit you research unlocks a bundle of components that let you expand your base, upgrade your ship, and access new manufacturing tools, as long as you hold the resources each build needs.

Quick answer: Spend credits to unlock a Knowledge Permit module, and you immediately gain every component listed under it. Costs scale from free (Modular Systems) up to 50,000 credits for the highest-tier alloy and frame permits.

How the Knowledge Permit system works

The tree is built from modules. Every module groups several components together, so unlocking a single permit grants access to all of its items at once. You pay the listed credit cost once, then the components become available to craft whenever you have the materials.

Modular Systems is your starting point and carries no credit cost. From there, costs climb steeply as the permits move toward steel hulls, titanium plating, advanced frames, and very light alloys.

Early permits to prioritize

The cheapest modules give the strongest early returns. Electromagnetism (100 credits) hands you the Simple Mining Laser and a Resource Detector, which speed up gathering. Cargo Accomodation (100 credits) adds storage and lighting components for your ship.

Personal Factory (300 credits) is the key step toward base building, since it unlocks the Base Command Center, Extractor, Smelter, and Base Deploy Kit. Pair it with Automated Factories (450 credits) to bring in the Assembler, Warehouse, and Drone Dispatcher for hands-off production.

High-cost permits for advanced ships

The most expensive permits gate the strongest building materials. Ship of Steel (3,000 credits) opens steel hull blocks, the Shipyard, and the Warden Wing. Better Titanium (10,000 credits) adds titanium plating and the Condor Wing.

At the top of the tree, Advanced Frames and Very Light Alloys each cost 50,000 credits. Advanced Frames covers large Solid Frame blocks and the Unbending Beam, while Very Light Alloys unlocks Levinium blocks, Very Light Plate, and the Levinium Ingot. Save these for late-game ship construction once you have a steady credit income.

Plan your route through the tree around what you need next. Buying a permit confirms the unlock right away and makes its full component set available, so it pays to clear the cheaper foundational modules before committing credits to the costly alloy and frame tiers.
