Spot the Fake For Anime Mega Update 5: What’s New & Next Countdown
Spot the Fake For Anime, the anime-themed guessing game from 20XX Studio, has grown into one of Roblox’s busier picture-quiz experiences, with nearly 15 million visits and hundreds of thousands of favorites. A big part of what keeps players coming back is its Mega Update — a sizable content drop that arrives on a near-weekly rhythm, with around about 2,300 players in rounds as of October 19.
Mega Update 5 is the most recent version to go live, and it won’t be the last. Rather than a single event, the Mega Update is a recurring fixture that comes back roughly every week, each one expanding what there is to play. The next drop is expected around Saturday, October 24 at 4:09 AM ET.

How often Mega Updates land
Mega Updates follow a weekly cadence — a fresh one has landed on 3 occasions so far, always toward the end of the week. The drop has gone live in three time slots, listed below in Eastern Time alongside UTC so players outside North America can line them up. Staggering the slots means the update becomes playable at a workable hour across different regions instead of only during US prime time.
| Window (ET) | UTC |
|---|---|
| Friday, 10:00 PM ET | Saturday, 02:00 UTC |
| Friday, 11:00 PM ET | Saturday, 03:00 UTC |
| Saturday, 1:45 AM ET | Saturday, 05:45 UTC |
The next date is our best estimate from the weekly pattern; we confirm it once 20XX Studio posts the drop. In local terms, the Friday 10:00 PM ET slot falls early Saturday across Europe and Asia — roughly 7:00 PM Friday on the US West Coast, 3:00 AM in the UK, 4:00 AM in Central Europe, 7:30 AM in India, 11:00 AM in Japan and 1:00 PM in eastern Australia.
What’s in Mega Update 5
Each Mega Update is the game’s headline content push, bundling its newest additions into a single release instead of trickling them out over the week. Mega Update 5 is the version players load into today; when 20XX Studio rolls out the next numbered drop, it becomes the new baseline, and we update this page to match. For the exact additions in the current build, the in-game update notes are the most reliable guide.
Tips for catching the next drop
If you want to be in early, the Friday 10:00 PM ET slot is the most convenient for North American players, while the later windows line up better for Europe and Asia. Pick the window that fits your region and set a reminder for it. And if you miss one, there’s no need to rush — the next Mega Update comes back around within about a week.
How it fits the game’s schedule
The Mega Update isn’t the only thing on the calendar. 20XX Studio also has Admin Abuse lined up as an upcoming event, so the weekly content drop sits alongside occasional special events rather than standing on its own.
