The Simpsons’ Springfield is back to being the sole destination in Fortnite Reload. After a brief spell where it shared the rotation with two other maps, Epic has cleared everything else out, leaving the crossover map as the only option when you queue into the mode.

What changed in the Reload rotation
Springfield arrived in Reload with the 41.30 update and originally stood alone for three days. Epic then switched the standard rotation back on, bringing Elite Stronghold and Slurp Rush into the mix alongside it.
That three-map rotation cut Springfield down to a 20-minute window each hour. With Slurp Rush running the first stretch, Elite Stronghold the middle, and Springfield only at the end of the hour, a lot of players kept missing their chance to drop into the town. Epic has now reversed course and removed the other maps entirely.
The change was confirmed on Fortnite’s status channel, which pointed players back to Springfield as the single Reload option.
How to confirm you are in the Springfield map
You do not need to time your session anymore. Open Reload, start a match, and the cel-shaded Springfield layout loads by default. If you see Evergreen Terrace, Moe’s Tavern, the Nuclear Power Plant, or The Confidential, you are in the right place.
The mode still runs the familiar 50-player Reload format, so respawns and pacing work exactly as they did before. Only the map selection has changed, not the underlying rules.
Why players pushed for the change
Demand for Springfield spiked once the John Wick Sprite and the Excommunicado mechanic landed on the map. The Sprite reveals nearby enemies to you and your squad for a few seconds after you knock or eliminate an opponent, and it can only be found on the Springfield map itself.
The Excommunicado status ties into The Confidential, a no-combat neutral zone. Fire a shot inside it and you instantly become excommunicado, a marked target for the whole lobby. In return you get unlimited stamina and faster reloads, and anyone who eliminates you earns 1,500 Gold plus improved loot. Only one player can hold that status at a time.
Because the 20-minute rotation windows kept locking players out of all of this, the interest in going Springfield-only was clear. Removing the other maps gives everyone open access to the Sprite hunt and the map’s set pieces.
How long Springfield stays as the only map
Epic has not confirmed an end date for this setup or said when Elite Stronghold and Slurp Rush might return to the rotation. There is a real possibility Springfield holds the top spot until Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 wraps, but no official window has been given.
For now, the practical takeaway is simple. Springfield is the only Reload map, you can play it on your own schedule, and there is no countdown forcing you to rush in during a narrow slot.
