Working the counter at Spuddy’s Family Diner means more than seating guests and serving orders. Some of the “customers” walking in are anomalies, and letting one sit down puts everyone in the room at risk. You spot them by studying their appearance or checking the security camera, then refuse them service before they ever reach a table.

Quick answer: Inspect each customer’s face and body, and cross-check with the camera feed. If anything looks off, press the red button to drop the order-counter shutter or hit the anomaly with your bat so it flees. Never seat an anomaly, avoid the dark square an Entity casts, and swing at a Mimic before it pounces.

What happens when an anomaly gets seated

An anomaly that reaches a seat and eats its order will attack the nearest customer. The moment that assault begins, you have 20 seconds to intervene. You can punch the anomaly by spending Energy, or bash it with a baseball bat.

The safer play is to never let it happen. Catch the anomaly at the order counter and deny it a seat, so you are not scrambling to rescue a guest during those 20 seconds. Most anomalies head straight for the order counter, but the Mimic and the Entity can turn up anywhere inside the restaurant, so keep watching the floor even between orders.

Order-counter anomalies

These three show up where you take orders, which makes them the easiest to screen. Your two go-to tools are the red button that drops the shutter and the bat that scares intruders off.

Tall anomalies with distorted bodies

Some anomalies are obvious. They stand unusually tall, their limbs look warped, and dark tentacles sprout from their backs. They march straight to the order counter to jumpscare you.

Press the red button to close the counter’s shutter, and the anomaly will leave on its own. Alternatively, strike it with the bat to send it into a panic so it runs off.

Face anomalies

Face anomalies are the most common threat you will face. They arrive at the order counter wearing scratched or cartoonish faces that clearly do not match the regular customers.

Do not seat them. Close the order-counter shutter and the anomaly will exit the building after a short wait.

Camera anomalies

The trickiest counter visitors look identical to ordinary customers at first glance. Their disguise falls apart on the security camera, where the footage reveals an appearance that does not match how they present themselves in person.

Once the camera exposes one, refuse service by closing your order-counter shutter. Hitting it with the bat works as well.

Roaming anomalies: Entity and Mimic

Not every threat waits politely at the counter. Two anomalies move through the diner itself, so you have to manage them while you work the floor.

Entities

An Entity hides beneath a table or takes the shape of the table itself. When one spawns, a dark square appears from the table to mark its range. Step into that square and your Energy meter drops by 20%.

The fix is simple restraint. Stay clear of the highlighted square, and the Entity will vanish after a while, freeing you to move around that customer’s table normally again.

Mimics

Mimics are the most dangerous anomaly because they can travel the entire restaurant. Once a Mimic detects you, it chases you down, then pounces and ragdolls your character, draining Energy. A successful Mimic hit reduces your Energy meter by 10%.

To stop a charging Mimic, equip the bat and swing at it. The attacker disappears, and you earn the “Time to Fight Back” badge for the trouble.

Keep the pattern in mind and each shift gets easier. Screen every face at the counter, glance at the camera before you decide, watch the floor for dark squares, and keep the bat ready for anything that starts moving toward you.
