The Hydra Serpent is a Secret-tier brainrot added in Update 67 of Steal a Brainrot, and it is the first snake-themed unit in the game. It is a three-headed, crowned serpent, joining Cerberus, Hydra Dragon Cannelloni, and Hydra Bunny as the fourth multi-headed brainrot. Getting one is less about luck and more about having either a very large bank balance or very good timing.
Quick answer: The Red Carpet sells the Hydra Serpent for $220 billion; alternatively, raid another player’s base to take one. The 250-unit craft run is sold out, along with the free codes tied to it.
Hydra Serpent stats, rarity, and cost
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Secret |
| Cost | $220B |
| Income | $220M/s |
| Added in | Update 67 |
| Spawn type | Red Carpet |
That price tag is the main barrier. A $220 billion purchase realistically means stacking other high-income secrets first and letting them run, so most players reach the Hydra Serpent well after it has already started appearing on other bases.
How to get Hydra Serpent in Steal a Brainrot
There are two reliable routes to owning one right now.
- Buy it from the Red Carpet when it spawns, with $220 billion on hand.
- Activate the core stealing mechanic, then take it from a base owned by another player.
The Red Carpet route is the clean one. The Hydra Serpent is an obtainable Secret, so it rolls into the normal spawn pool and walks the runway like any other unit. If you have the cash ready when it appears, you buy it and place it on a pedestal.
Stealing is the cheaper route and the messier one. Runway spawns during busy servers turn into a scramble, with players racing the serpent down the track while trait effects and event chaos fire off around them. Some bases are also protected, and an attempted steal will return a “You can’t steal from this user” message instead of picking the unit up.

The Hydra Serpent craft recipe and its 250-unit limit
The Hydra Serpent also had a craft recipe, but not a permanent one. During an admin session, the developer account Sammy pushed a limited-quantity Hydra Serpent recipe into the Craft Machine capped at 250 units. Stock counted down within seconds of going live.
The recipe itself was simple to read and brutal to source.
- 1x Cerberus
- 1x Pizza and Ranch
- 2x Garama and Madundung
If a limited recipe goes live again, the sequence below is how players actually landed one before stock ran out.

No official date or time is currently confirmed for another limited Hydra Serpent craft window.

Hydra Serpent codes have already sold out
Two codes handed out free Hydra Serpents during the admin session, each capped at 250 redemptions. Both were claimed almost immediately.
| Code | Reward | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Firedragon101 | Hydra Serpent | Sold out |
| GREENHYDRASERPEHT19 | Hydra Serpent | Sold out |
Entering either one in the Codes menu now returns a “This code is sold out” message rather than an error. That is the expected result, not a bug on your end, and there is no active Hydra Serpent code confirmed at the moment.
Why some Hydra Serpents earn far more than $220M/s
The $220 million per second figure is the base rate. Traits and mutations stack on top of it, which is why you will see Hydra Serpents on other bases posting numbers several times higher. Units that were on the runway during an event pass can pick up trait effects, and some builds have been seen generating $880 million per second.
Traits applied during admin sessions are not always permanent. One event accidentally spread a strawberry trait across every dragon-type unit, including Hydra Serpents, and the trait was later stripped back out, resetting the affected brainrots. If you are buying or trading for a traited serpent, judge it on the income number showing on the pedestal.
How to confirm the Hydra Serpent is on your base
You own it once the unit is standing on one of your base pedestals with its income ticker running. Check the label reads Hydra Serpent with a Secret rarity tag and a $220B value, and watch your cash counter climb at the serpent’s per-second rate.
A craft is only finished when you physically collect it from the green Collect Zone. Leaving it sitting there means it is not yet on your base, and a unit on a pedestal is also a unit other players can attempt to steal, so lock your base if you plan to step away.
