Perfect Random’s retro first-person roguelike leaves early access with a same-day rollout across Steam, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Sulfur, the low-poly first-person action roguelike from Perfect Random, exits its long early-access run with a confirmed full version. The 1.0 build arrives on October 28, 2026, and it ships the same day on PC and every supported console rather than staggering across platforms.

Quick answer: Sulfur 1.0 arrives on October 28, 2026, for Steam and these consoles: Nintendo Switch, followed by Nintendo Switch 2; PlayStation 4, then PlayStation 5; Xbox One, plus Xbox Series X|S.

Release status: Confirmed for October 28

The launch is locked to a single date, October 28, 2026, and the window applies to all platforms at once. No separate console date trails behind the PC build. Perfect Random is both developing and publishing the game, and a free demo has been available on Steam since March 2024 for players who want to try the loop before the full version lands.

A specific launch hour and time zone have not been confirmed, so the date stands on its own for now.

Sulfur 1.0 covers current and last-generation hardware, including both Switch models. The spread is as follows.

What Sulfur is

Sulfur is a first-person action roguelike built around fast, stylized combat in a deliberately retro, low-poly art style. You fight through churches, caves, dungeons, and open outdoor areas against a roster that runs from robed cultists and goblins to shadow creatures, mimics, and floating bosses. Weapons cover a wide range, with dual pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, bows, and a katana for melee.

Discovery is a running theme. Guns turn up in unexpected places, including a machine gun left sitting on a toilet inside an outhouse, and runs mix firefights with exploration and looting of desks, scrolls, and ornate chests.

Weapon modding and cooking systems

Firearms are not fixed. A workshop pegboard lets you bolt on attachments and modifications, and a single machine gun can take several distinct configurations depending on the parts you fit. That customization sits at the center of how you shape a run.

Food works through a cooking system tied to your inventory. A stove opens a 4×4 grid where you arrange ingredients and press a Cook button to produce items, giving the survival side of the game its own screen rather than folding it into generic pickups.

Artifacts, bosses, and other encounters

Magical artifacts play into progression. Blood altars and medallions appear across levels, and filling an ornate circular medallion with red liquid lets you activate it later during a cathedral fight. These talismans sit alongside the shooting rather than replacing it.

Occult imagery carries into boss fights: one is a crowned, weeping figure hovering near the ceiling, while another is a cloaked foe that calls up spinning eye projectiles over a circle of flames. Between battles, you can trade with merchants, including a goblin in a red hood; one driving section has you traveling along a nighttime highway with a flying creature alongside.

For players already in the demo or early access, October 28 is the point where the loop moves to its full 1.0 state across every listed platform. If you are waiting on console, there is no extra delay to track.
