The Blood of Dawnwalker: Bandit’s Treasure Map Laslea Glen (Full Quest)

Bandit’s Treasure Map: Laslea Glen is one of the first optional treasure hunts in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and it runs on the same currency as everything else in the game — time. The map itself is free to grab, but the fight that guards it and the dig at the other end each push the clock forward, which matters when Coen only has 30 in-game days.

Quick answer: Clear the bandit camp in the hills near the Outlaw’s Gorge Shrine, take Treasure Map: Laslea Glen off the table inside the cabin, then travel east and south to the bear’s den, kill the Ravenous Bear, pick up the shovel lying beside the disturbed earth, and dig. The chest holds the Polished Long Cleaver, the Recipe for Minor Fortitude Paste, 100 Denarius, and a valuable.

Time cost: two time segments from start to finish

Time in The Blood of Dawnwalker only moves when you complete certain activities, and this quest triggers it twice. Clearing the bandit camp advances the clock by one segment, and digging up the chest advances it by another. Everything in between — walking, looting, reading the map — is free.

Two hours is a real expense during the Prologue, when there are plenty of zero-cost activities nearby. Nothing about the quest is missable, though. The camp, the map, and the buried chest all stay in the world, so you can leave it and come back once the Prologue is behind you.

Where to find Treasure Map: Laslea Glen

Fast travel to the Outlaw’s Gorge Shrine, on the eastern side of Laslea Glen. The bandit camp sits close by in the hills near the church, so you can walk there in under a minute once you have the shrine unlocked.

Clear the camp. A Renegade Bruiser leads a couple of ordinary bandits, and a large wolf joins the fight, so pull them carefully rather than charging the cabin door. This is the encounter that costs you a time segment.

Loot the bodies outside before you go in. The corpse by the cabin carries the Broad Swing Manual along with Denarius, Golden Earrings, a Balm of Fortitude, and Hunter’s Trousers.

Step inside the cabin and take Treasure Map: Laslea Glen from the table. Picking it up starts the quest immediately — no dialogue, no NPC.

Open the map from your inventory and look at the red X. It is a hand-drawn sketch rather than a precise pin, so the marker it places is only roughly where the treasure sits. Drop a custom marker to the east yourself if you want a clearer heading.

Where the Laslea Glen treasure is buried

The dig site is a bear’s den in the woods, further east from where you found the map. From the Outlaw’s Gorge Shrine, head east across the treeline and then turn south until a Ravenous Bear notices you.

Kill the Ravenous Bear. It hits hard for an early-game animal and there is no way to sneak past it, since the dig spot is right at its den. The carcass drops Bear Meat, Bear Liver, and Animal Bones.

Search the den. There are corpses and scattered junk around the entrance — Broken Armour, Animal Hide, a Canteen of Water, Moldy Cheese — and among them a patch of disturbed earth that Coen can interact with.

Inspect the earth. Coen will point out that he needs a shovel, and there is one lying nearby at the den, so you do not have to walk back to the village for a tool.

Pick up the shovel and dig. Confirming the dig burns an hour of in-game time, so do it when you are ready to spend it. A buried chest surfaces once the animation ends.

Open the chest and take everything. Looting it closes out the quest — you will see the completion notification and the entry drops out of your active quest list.

Bandit’s Treasure Map: Laslea Glen rewards

The chest is worth the two hours mainly for the sword. The rest is money and a crafting recipe.

Note: the Recipe and the valuable are the two slots that vary between playthroughs. The Polished Long Cleaver and the Denarius are consistent.

If the dig prompt will not appear

There are only a few things that block this quest, and none of them are bugs.

You have not picked up Treasure Map: Laslea Glen yet. The quest does not exist until the map is in your inventory, and the disturbed earth will not read as a dig site.
You do not have a shovel. Inspecting the earth without one only produces a line about needing a tool; the shovel is on the ground at the den.
The Ravenous Bear is still alive. It will interrupt the dig, so clear it first.
You are searching where the X points. The sketch is deliberately imprecise — walk the area around the cave rather than trusting the exact marker position.

If you are still in the Prologue and weighing what to spend hours on, the Dead Drop quest sits nearby in the woods and costs nothing on the clock, which makes it the cheaper detour. The treasure will keep. The Polished Long Cleaver and its Weapon Art are just as useful whenever you decide to come back and dig it up.
