The Blood of Dawnwalker: Rockfalls Split Rock Treasure Map Walkthrough

Treasure maps in The Blood of Dawnwalker are not handed out by NPCs. You take them off bandits. The Split Rock map is one of the better ones, because the chest it points to in Rockfalls holds a legendary chest piece and a master-tier greatsword rather than the usual pile of vendor junk.

Quick answer: Clear the bandit camp in Vallis Sarcora, take Treasure Map: Split Rock from the stash behind the hay bales, then travel to Rockfalls and dig at the glowing spot wedged between two large rocks on the snowy path to finish the quest.

Where to get Treasure Map: Split Rock in Vallis Sarcora

The quest does not exist until the map is in your inventory. It starts at a marked Bandit Camp in Vallis Sarcora, and the camp shows up on your map as a point of interest before you ever hear about the treasure.

Open the map, find the Bandit Camp icon in Vallis Sarcora, and track it. The compass at the top of the screen will then give you a live distance readout as you close in.

Kill the bandits guarding the camp. They come at you as a group, so pull them along the approach rather than running into the middle of the tents.

Sweep the camp once the fight ends. Containers and sacks light up in the world when you are close enough, and the one you want is tucked behind the hay bales rather than sitting out in the open.

Open the stash and take Treasure Map: Split Rock from the loot list. The quest Bandit’s Treasure Map: Rockfalls – Split Rock is added the moment the map moves into your inventory.

Note: take everything else while the window is open, but watch your weight. Clearing a full camp is an easy way to trip the You are Overencumbered warning before you have even started the trip north.

Split Rock treasure location in Rockfalls

The map does not drop a precise pin. It marks a search area in the Rockfalls region, and you have to spot the landmark yourself. The name is the hint, and the terrain is snow rather than the greenery of Vallis Sarcora.

Open the map, select the quest, and track the Search for the treasure objective. That places the marked area in Rockfalls on your compass.

Travel to Rockfalls and follow the snowy path into the search zone. The dig site is off the trail, in the gap between two large boulders that read as a single rock split down the middle.

Walk up to the faint yellow glow on the ground between the rocks and dig. There is only one interaction here, and the objective clears as soon as the animation finishes.

Split Rock chest rewards

Digging unearths a buried chest. The quest closes out on the dig itself, so the loot sits in the chest afterwards and has to be taken manually.

The greatsword and the coat are the reason to make this trip. Both are well above what you are likely carrying when the camp first appears on your map, which makes the detour worth the travel time even if you skip the smaller items.

How to confirm the quest is complete

A Quest Ended banner appears on screen for Bandit’s Treasure Map: Rockfalls – Split Rock the instant the dig finishes, with a Loot prompt attached to the unearthed chest. Take the contents, and the quest disappears from your active list.

Two things stop this from working. If the quest never appeared in your log, you cleared the camp but left the map in the stash behind the hay bales, so go back and take it. If the dig spot will not highlight, you are in the right region but outside the marked search area, and the glow only shows up once you are standing among the split rocks themselves.

If the Loot button is greyed out on part of the haul, drop or sell surplus weight first. Overencumbrance is the most common reason players walk away from this chest with the Denarius but without the armour.
