Ticha Riverpass is one of the shrines Brencis’s soldiers got to first. The idol that makes it work — the shrine’s heart — is gone, so the site is dead on your map until you bring the heart back. Unlike the shrines guarded by a soldier camp or a bear, this one has no fight attached at all. The thief died on his own, and the whole job is a short walk, a drop into a ravine, and a slightly awkward climb back out.
Quick answer: Inspect the broken shrine to start the quest, hold Focus Mode to reveal the yellow footprints, follow them to the ravine, drop in and loot the glowing corpse for the Ticha Riverpass Shrine’s Heart, then walk back up the ravine’s sloped path and interact with the shrine to restore it.
Before you start: Focus Mode and the time cost
Nothing happens until you interact with the damaged shrine itself. Walking past it does not trigger anything. Once Coen inspects it, the journal adds Destroyed Shrines: Ticha Riverpass with the objective to search for clues around the shrine using Focus Mode.
Looks like the shrine’s missing its heart… but maybe I could restore it.
Focus Mode is bound to holding L2 on controller or LT on Xbox pads. It outlines interactive objects in yellow, including footprints and the marks left on tree trunks along the route. Without it, the trail is invisible.
Note: Restoring a destroyed shrine advances the clock by one time segment. With a hard countdown running on rescuing your family, it is worth batching shrine repairs alongside other errands in the same area rather than making a dedicated trip.

Everything on the body in the ravine
Only the heart matters for the quest, but the corpse carries a small stack of extras. The note is worth reading if you want context on who ordered the shrines torn down.
| Item | Use |
|---|---|
| Ticha Riverpass Shrine’s Heart | Quest item — restores the shrine |
| Brenna’s Orders – False Idols | Readable note |
| Dust Well-Fitted Trousers | Armor |
| Supernumerary’s Bone Brew (1) | Consumable |
| Canteen of Elderflower Juice (1) | Consumable |
Get out of the ravine without wasting time
This is the only part of the quest that trips people up. The ravine walls directly above the body are not climbable, and hammering the jump or climb input against them goes nowhere.

Restore the shrine and confirm the fast travel point is live
Walk up to the broken shrine and interact with it. Coen slots the heart back into place, the quest closes out, and the reward screen shows 25 XP and a skill point. The shrine icon turns from gray to blue on the map, which is the only confirmation that matters — a restored shrine can be used for fast travel, storage, buying skills, and waiting to pass time.
Completion also queues up the next objective, Echoes of Silenced Bells, which sends you to meet Anica at the old inn.
Common reasons the shrine will not restore
- You never inspected the shrine, so the quest and its footprint trail were never generated.
- You are not holding Focus Mode. The prints and the marked trees are only rendered while it is active.
- You reached the ravine but did not drop in. The corpse is at the bottom, not on the rim.
- You are trying to scale the ravine wall above the body. Follow the floor to the sloped passage instead.
- You looted the body but skipped the return trip. The heart does nothing in your inventory until you interact with the shrine.
Ticha Riverpass is one of 17 destroyed shrines scattered across Vale Sangora, and it is among the cheapest to fix because there is nothing to fight. Most of the others end at a soldier camp, a bandit camp, or a pack of wolves, and a handful start with soldiers already smashing the shrine as you walk up. The pattern is the same every time — inspect, hold Focus Mode, follow the yellow, and bring the heart home.
