The Blood of Dawnwalker: Go to the Bridge Near Stoneward Post

The “Go to the bridge near Stoneward Post” objective in The Blood of Dawnwalker sounds vaguer than it is. There is only one bridge that counts, it sits well south of the Stoneward Post shrine, and the marker on your map does not always make the approach obvious because the path drops down toward the water rather than running straight at it.

Quick answer: Head south from Briar Sloughs and Stoneward Post to the “Small Bridge” icon on the map, then walk onto the wooden bridge. The objective clears the moment you cross it and updates to “Reach the rendezvous point.”

Where the bridge near Stoneward Post is on the map

Open the map and look below the two landmarks you already know. Briar Sloughs sits to the north, Stoneward Post sits south of it, and the bridge is further south again. The icon you want is labelled Small Bridge, and it is the same crossing the quest marker points at, so there is no ambiguity once you have the map open.

How to reach the bridge and clear the objective

Open the map and select the Small Bridge icon south of Stoneward Post. Use the TRACK option so the objective marker stays pinned on your compass while you move.

If you have already unlocked the Stoneward Post shrine, fast travel there first. Shrines let you spend Skill Points, fast-forward time, or jump to any fast travel point you have discovered, so it is the cheapest way to cut the walk short.

Follow the path south and downhill toward the water. The route funnels you fairly directly to the crossing, and the bridge itself is a small yellow wooden structure rather than a large stone span, so do not overshoot looking for something bigger.

Walk onto the bridge and cross it. No interaction prompt is involved and nothing needs to be looted here, just stepping onto the planks and continuing across is enough.

How to confirm the objective registered

Two things happen almost at once when the game accepts the crossing. Coen speaks up with a line confirming the bridge is the right one and pointing you southeast toward the meeting point, and a QUEST UPDATED banner appears on screen.

Alright, that’s the bridge. Now southeast, to the meeting point.

Check the quest tracker afterwards. It should now read Reach the rendezvous point instead of the bridge objective. If it still shows the old text, you have not physically stepped onto the bridge yet, so walk the full length of it rather than passing alongside the riverbank.

Unlocking the Small Bridge fast travel point

The bridge doubles as a fast travel point, which is worth securing while you are here. Guards can be posted in the area, and you may need to clear them out before the Small Bridge shrine registers as discovered. Once it does, it joins your fast travel list alongside Stoneward Post and the other shrines on the main road.

Note: the Shadows in the Woods questline runs under the 30-day clock that governs Coen’s search for his family, so the day counter in the corner keeps ticking while you detour. Clearing the bridge and moving on to the rendezvous point southeast is the direct route forward.

From here the trail leads into the forest, where a woman named Sara is being held by soldiers. Freeing her is what connects this objective to the Manumits and the rebel leaders waiting deeper in the woods.
