The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Claim the Pre-Order Bonus Armor Set

Clearing the rubble at the village gate during the prologue drops the Sangoran Wayfarer set straight into Coen's inventory.

Clearing the rubble at the village gate during the prologue drops the Sangoran Wayfarer set straight into Coen’s inventory.

The Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armor Set does not appear the second you boot up The Blood of Dawnwalker. The bonus sits behind a specific story beat in the prologue, so players who pre-ordered and then went hunting through the inventory on the opening screen come up empty. The unlock is scripted, it happens once, and it takes only a few minutes of play to reach.

Quick answer: Complete the prologue mission “Smoke and Ashes” by clearing the rubble at the village gate in Loalea Glen. The “THANK YOU!” screen fires immediately afterward and the three-piece Sangoran Wayfarer set drops into your inventory.

What the Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armor Set includes

The reward arrives as three separate armor pieces, listed in the reward screen under the name Coen the Wayfarer Armour Set and in the inventory under the Sangoran Wayfarer name. Each piece carries the emblem of a nameless smith who travelled the continent looking for inspiration.

Chausses of the Sangoran Wayfarer80
Breastplate of the Sangoran Wayfarer60
Boots of the Sangoran Wayfarer54

Every edition of the game carries the same bonus. Standard, Eclipse, Day One and Collector’s all grant the set to pre-order buyers, and the extras that separate those editions are digital or physical items rather than gear. The set is also early unlock content, which means it can be found in the game later by players who did not pre-order.

How to claim the pre-order armor set in Smoke and Ashes

Play through the opening until the prologue mission “Smoke and Ashes” is active. Open the map and confirm the tracked objective reads “Go to the village gate” in Loalea Glen.
Follow the objective marker on foot to the village gate. The distance counter on the tracker ticks down as you close in, so keep moving until you are standing at the gate itself.

Interact with the rubble blocking the gate. Coen clears it, the day phase changes, and the reward is granted at the end of that transition. There is no separate menu, code, or store redemption involved.

How to confirm the reward unlocked

A full-screen “THANK YOU!” message appears once the rubble is cleared, naming the Coen the Wayfarer Armour Set and listing the three items you just received. The “A Dawnwalker is Born” trophy pops around the same moment, which is a second, independent sign that the prologue beat registered. Dismiss the screen and the items are already sitting in your bags.

How to equip the Sangoran Wayfarer set

Open the character menu and switch to the Inventory tab. The journal and map sit on neighbouring tabs, so cycle across if the game drops you on the wrong screen.
Highlight each Sangoran Wayfarer piece to bring up its item details and compare the armour value against whatever Coen is wearing out of the prologue.

Equip the chausses, breastplate and boots one at a time. Each slot updates instantly, and Coen’s model changes to the Wayfarer look once all three are on.

If the armor set does not appear

Two things stop the set from showing up. The first is simply not having finished the trigger, which means the rubble at the village gate has not been cleared yet and “Smoke and Ashes” is still in progress. The second is entitlement, since the bonus is tied to pre-orders placed before launch and to purchases from participating retailers while stocks last.

Note: if you did not pre-order, there is nothing to redeem, but the armor is not gone for good. The Sangoran Wayfarer gear can still be obtained through normal play later in the campaign.

Because the unlock is bundled into a mandatory prologue objective, no player can miss it by accident. Push to the village gate, clear the way, and the set is yours before the story properly opens up.
