The Blood of Dawnwalker: How to Farm Denarius Fast Without Losing Time

Unlock the Silver Trader, clear the biggest silver hoards, and set up a repeatable teeth-selling loop for steady Denarii.

Denarius pays for almost everything Coen needs in Vale Sangora — weapons, armour, healing items, manuals and upgrades — and the 30-day clock means you cannot afford to spend whole days chasing coin. The good news is that the most profitable income in the game comes from things you pick up anyway, plus two merchants who turn otherwise worthless loot into large payouts.

Quick answer: Unlock the Silver Trader in Svartrau City and sell him every silver item you loot, then finish Sanzhana’s side quest so you can sell teeth for roughly 200 Denarii each. Svartrau’s guards keep coming back, so the teeth loop is the only genuinely repeatable money source.

What sells, and who buys it

Before you sell anything, take Bewitching Influence from the Witchcraft tree. It cuts buying prices by 15% and raises selling prices by 15%, which compounds across every transaction for the rest of the run. Merchants also keep normal hours, so trading is a daytime activity — stalls close at night when Coen’s vampiric side takes over.

Silver shows up as Lumps of Silver, Silver Crosses, Chalices, Bowls, Platters and Silverware. High-level soldier and bandit camps drop it in bulk, so late-game clears are worth more than they look.

Unlock the Silver Trader in Svartrau City

There is exactly one fence for contraband silver in the entire game, and he is hidden behind a short questline. Until you finish it, every silver item in your pack is dead weight. You also need enough story progress to reach the city, which happens once you complete Into the Den.

Travel northwest of Glennhire and pick up the lead that starts the smuggling trail. This is the thread that eventually points you at the fence.
Head to the cave north of Blackwater Hollow and kill the Ravenous Bear inside. Search the cave afterwards and take the Tattered Letter from the remains.
Follow the letter to the shack in the Northern Foothills and find the secret cache stashed there. Inside is a Letter with a Tip.
Read the tip, then go to Svartrau City and confront the trader with what you now know. Once the conversation resolves in your favour, he starts buying silver.

You know it worked when silver items stop greying out in the trade window and the Silver Trader shows a buy price for the White Chalice tag. Selling him 1,000 Denarii worth of silver over the playthrough also unlocks the Smuggler achievement.

Note: this NPC can be killed by your own actions. If he dies, no other merchant in that playthrough will buy silver, and the achievement becomes unobtainable until you start over.

Fixed silver hoards worth the detour

These are one-time pickups, but each one is worth far more than an hour of general looting, and two of them hand over legendary equipment on top of the coin.

Silver Cache and Durandal near Coward’s Path

The Treasure Map: Silver Cache points to the broken bridge at Coward’s Path. Drop to the bottom, clear the wolves waiting there, and dig up the cache. Along with a large pile of silver, you get the legendary sword Durandal.

Cheap silver from a Svartrau City side quest

One resident in Svartrau City will sell you silver at well below what the fence pays for it. Help them out, buy everything they offer, then walk it straight to the Silver Trader for a clean margin. Use the map to line up both stops in a single trip so you are not burning time segments crossing the region twice.

Robbing the Cathedral Treasury

The Cathedral in Svartrau City keeps its valuables behind a locked treasury door. Help the Acolyte move his boxes to gain access to the belltower room, then check the back of the ledger in there — the Treasury Key is tucked behind it. Unlock the treasury and strip it; the haul is one of the biggest single silver payouts in the city.

The waterfall cave at Boar’s Back

At Boar’s Back, look behind the waterfall on the right-hand side. The opening leads into a hidden cave stuffed with silver, and the legendary amulet Arbiter’s Medallion is waiting at the end of it. Drop a custom marker before you set off, because the entrance is easy to walk past.

The repeatable loop: sell teeth to Sanzhana

Every other method above eventually runs out. Teeth do not. Sanzhana, tied to the Sanzhani Tsarina questline, becomes a merchant once you complete her side quest, and she pays around 200 Denarii for each tooth you bring her. That single detail turns ordinary combat into an income stream.

Finish Sanzhana’s side quest in full. She only opens her shop after it resolves, and until then teeth are just clutter in your inventory.
Go to Svartrau City and fight the guards. They drop teeth alongside their usual gear and coin, and a full patrol clears in under a minute once your build is online.

Loot every body. Take the Shiny Tooth drops plus whatever gear and silver they were carrying, since that all converts to coin as well.

Return to Sanzhana, sell the teeth, then go back and repeat. Because the guards keep reappearing, the cycle has no natural cap — the only limit is how much of the day you want to spend on it.

Tip: hostility in the city carries consequences, so weigh the Infamy you pick up against the coin before you make this your default routine.

What not to spend Denarii on

Saving is as effective as earning here, because two categories of purchase are pure waste. Legendary weapons and armour on sale in shops can all be found in the world for nothing, including Durandal and the Arbiter’s Medallion. The Silk Threads quest item, priced at 5,000 Denarii, is the worst offender — it is obtainable free elsewhere.

Manuals and equipment upgrades are the exception. Those are permanent improvements you cannot simply loot, so they are where your coin should go.

Why the money loops stop working

  • The Silver Trader is dead. No replacement exists for the rest of that playthrough, and stockpiled silver becomes unsellable.
  • You have not finished Sanzhana’s side quest, so teeth have no buyer.
  • It is night. Merchants shut their stalls and NPCs sleep, so sell during daylight hours.
  • You have not completed Into the Den, which is what opens up travel to Svartrau City in the first place.

Set up in that order and your economy sorts itself out early. Take Bewitching Influence, clear the Silver Trader questline as soon as Svartrau opens, sweep the fixed hoards while you are already passing them, and keep Sanzhana in reserve for whenever you need a fast injection of coin without touching the story clock more than you have to.
