Forge It Anew hands you a broken legendary weapon and then leaves you to work out who can actually put it back together. The answer is a single exiled smith, and the game never marks her on your map until you either ask the right person or wander into the far corner of Vale Sangora yourself.
Quick answer: Travel to the Uriashi Hermitage shrine in the northwestern corner of the map, near the Briar Sloughs region, and approach the stone hut to trigger the conversation. Bring all three sword shards and the Broken Sword of St. Mihai before you talk to her, or she has nothing to work with.
What you need before talking to the Uriashi blacksmith
Finding her is the easy half. She will only reforge the blade once you are carrying every piece of it, which means finishing three shard hunts and a separate Svartrau questline first.
| Item | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Sword Shard 1 | Forge It Anew: Do Not Disturb — kobold cave in the Maragir Wealds, north of the Upper Maragir shrine |
| Sword Shard 2 | Forge It Anew: Hostile Takeover — hidden cave near Shrike’s Crag, guarded by the Munch-Munch miniboss |
| Sword Shard 3 | Forge It Anew: Executive Order — looted from a tent in Xanthe’s soldier camp near Tantari after the cave turns up empty |
| Broken Sword of St. Mihai (the hilt) | Reward for A Monk and a Saint in Svartrau, which follows on from Night Terrors |
Note: each shard pickup burns three hours of in-game time, and the full questline runs to roughly 14 time segments once you count the hilt and the closing ritual. Plan it around the main story clock rather than squeezing it in late.

Add to Google Preferences →Asking the Matriarch in Uriash Village for the blacksmith
Mihai’s Journal tells you to search for an Uriash blacksmith, and the in-world way to narrow that down is to ask the uriash themselves. This step is optional, but it puts a marker on your map instead of leaving you to guess.

You can skip all of this. The hermitage exists whether or not you have spoken to anyone, and one of Xanthe’s soldiers also leaves a letter in the ransacked Tantari cave that gives away the same location.
Reaching the Uriashi Hermitage
The hermitage sits at the northwestern edge of the world, in the Briar Sloughs area, well past Mert’s Mill and the military camp. There is no road that leads straight to it, so the fastest approach is a fast travel hop followed by a short run through the woods.

How to confirm the reforge worked
Hand over the three shards and the Broken Sword of St. Mihai, and the smith returns the Restored Sword of St. Mihai. That item appearing in your inventory is the confirmation — the quest then rolls straight into a new objective pointing at a cave a short way northwest of her home.
Inside that cave you clear out undead, follow the glowing green mushrooms up to a ritual room, and interact with a red orb that summons three waves of enemies. Surviving them tempers the blade into the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai, a level 21 Legendary greatsword with 331 DPS, and unlocks the Arbiter’s Blade trophy.
Tip: the hermitage doubles as a merchant stop once discovered, and the same smith handles the legendary armor at the end of A Bulwark Against Darkness. It is worth keeping the fast travel point on your list.
Why the blacksmith dialogue does not progress
Two things stall this step, and neither of them means a shard has vanished from the world.
- You are missing a piece. All three shards plus the hilt need to be in your inventory. If Forge It Anew never became active in the first place, reload to before the St. Mihai fight and confirm you read the note in his coffin.
- You are on an older build. Rebel Wolves shipped a fix for Uriashi holy-sword crafting in Hotfix 1.0.2. If the crafting option refuses to work with everything in hand, update the game and speak to her again.
Make a manual save before you walk up to the hut. It costs nothing, and it gives you a clean point to return to if the handover behaves oddly on your build.
