The Legend of Flowers and Thorns is a four-part Journey chapter in Aniimo that starts with a suspiciously weepy Budsquire tea party and ends with a perfumer blending a bottle called Home. It spans two regions, two boss fights and a fair amount of climbing around a ruined tower, and it is the only route to the Home perfume.
Quick answer: Clear Flowers and Thorns – Sea of Flowers first, then the Rosetower Wood maze, then Sightseeing, then A Fragrant Journey. The final hand-in to Awen pays out the legendary perfume Home.
Where each section starts and what level you need
The chapter opens in the Sea of Flowers and then moves entirely to Rosetower Woods. The in-game map lists the Sea of Flowers at region levels 20 to 29 and Rosetower Woods at 44 to 51, so the gap between the first section and the rest is significant. Each section is triggered by a clue you pick up in the world.

Flowers and Thorns – Sea of Flowers: the tea party and the four Lethal Thorns
A group of Budsquires is holding a tea party inside Wildflower Cottage, an abandoned house in the Sea of Flowers, and their storyteller is halfway through a tale about a brother who wants to evolve into a Thornblade to protect his sister. She keeps stopping the story to send you outside.
Go to Wildflower Cottage during the day and Twine with a Budsquire so you can join the party. Sit through the first half of the story until the objective changes.
Head outside and beat the four Lethal Thorns: Callies, Carlos, Carola and Carolina. Each one delivers its own line about thorns and protection before the fight, and the rule they all live by is that the loser of a Thornblade challenge breaks one of its own thorns.
Go back to the cottage and hear how the story ends. The narrator eventually abandons the disguise and identifies herself as Aria, a writer from Bloomville. She also tells you to care for Awen should you meet her in Rosetower Woods, creating the Awen rumor used in the final section.
Flowers and Thorns – Rosetower Wood: the Maze of Thorns and Princess Melloblum
The maze sits in the eastern part of Rosetower Woods. Its entrance is guarded, its interior is stacked with walls you can climb and glide between, and the whole section is an investigation into why Princess Melloblum stopped dancing.
Clear the path in. A vine wall blocks the approach, so bring a fire-element Aniimo and burn it down. There is also a patrolling Thornblade on the route who will only let you past if you are Twined as a Budsquire, so catch a wild one nearby if you do not already have one.
Talk to the First Lethal Thorn at the tea party entrance. She tells you that you are not on the guest list, then fights you. This is a standard duel, and she goes down quickly to elemental pressure once her break gauge is gone.
Speak to Princess Melloblum once she interrupts and invites you in. She explains that the Dance of Blissful Bloom, the gift every Melloblum has, faded out of her until it was gone entirely, and that she has not left her room since.
Speak with the characters around the courtyard. The Budsquire banished for being overly inquisitive points you toward the objective’s clue. You may additionally find Maze of Thorns Tales 1 to 4 from a Patrolling Thornblade, a sobbing Budsquire, a Bedraggled Budsquire on an upper ledge and an Elderly Thornblade in an inner courtyard.
The four tales are flagged as optional in the tracker. They fill in the story, but they are not four mandatory keys, so follow the main target about the missing dance if you just want to finish.
Go back to Melloblum and tell her what you pieced together, which is that everyone’s protection has been walling her in. The First Lethal Thorn apologizes, a group of exhausted Budsquires arrives looking for home, and the dance returns. Sit through those closing lines and the hand-in to close the section.
Sightseeing: Cubbo’s rose and the Stamen of Cubbo’s Rose
The dance rewrites the woods. White flowers spread across the hills, the grumpy monsters go to sleep, and the energy inside the Cubbo’s roses changes. This is the short section of the chapter, and it also hands over an evolution material.
In the flower field, have a Budsquire twine with a Cubbo’s rose and strike it. This produces 1 Stamen of Cubbo’s Rose, the item required later when evolving a Budsquire into a Melloblum.
Climb high enough to look at the single Whitesnow Rose growing on top of Whiterose Tower. A panoramic camera sweep plays and the section completes.
A Fragrant Journey: Rosetower Woods and the Home perfume
Awen is a Bloomville perfumer and Aria’s sister, and she has walked into a region most people avoid because her grandfather’s notes pointed her at an old workshop inside Whiterose Tower. This section is the one that actually produces Home.
Find Awen in Rosetower Woods during the day. If it is night or early morning when you arrive, open the menu and skip time forward to Noon, then talk to her again to advance the objective to Whiterose Tower.
Fast travel to the Whiterose Tower waypoint and meet her at the entrance. The way inside is a low side opening at the base of the tower, not the front.
Inside, glide and climb the ladder up to the workshop desk and read the Whitesnow Rose Research Notes. These confirm that Awen’s mother Lisa and her grandparents came from Azureville and were stranded by the upheaval a century ago, which is why her scent is unlike anyone else’s in Bloomville.
Unjam the workshop. Swap to a heavy Aniimo such as Flameruff or Grizbo, ram the Ancient Iron Crate along its track into the stone wall, then smash the stones caught in the gears. That restarts perfume production and reopens the central air vent.
Drop back down the interior shaft and give the Aromathyst to Awen on the wooden platform. She reads snow, happiness and memory in it, blends the legendary perfume Home from her grandparents’ formulas and hands you the bottle.
Rewards for every section
Each of the four sections pays 30 Glimmer on top of the figures below. The three full sections give Sparkling Crystals, while the short Sightseeing trip gives Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystals instead, plus the Stamen of Cubbo’s Rose from the rose objective.

Chapter progress pays separately. You get 1 Report Card at 25 percent, 50 percent and 75 percent, and 1 Irisalis Petal at 100 percent, along with the bottle of Home from the final hand-in.
How to confirm the chapter is finished
The chapter is done when the Journey Log shows all four sections handed in and the 100 percent chapter reward has been claimed. A completed objective is not the same as a completed section, so check that the Rosetower Wood entry specifically shows its hand-in as submitted.
That matters because the Melloblum evolution gate checks the submitted Rosetower Wood quest, not the Sightseeing entry and not a partially cleared maze. With the hand-in done, evolving a Basic Budsquire needs the Aniimo at level 27 with Faithful in its personality, plus 1 Sprout Stone and 1 Stamen of Cubbo’s Rose. A Flux Crystal can stand in for the missing Sprout Stone, but nothing substitutes for the stamen.
Home itself has one more job waiting for it. It is the legendary perfume that restores the white of the Rosetower Colorless Dream over in the Fragrant Dream chapter, so hold onto the bottle rather than treating it as a trophy.
