The Parting of the Ways is a short lab-based side mission that turns a dimensional experiment into an escort job. It starts with Dr. Veritas in the Vinechoked Canopy on Providence Island, and it ends with you dragging her back into three dimensions after a machine squashes her into a flat line. The whole run takes about five minutes if you bring the right element to the ambush.
Quick answer: Accept the mission from Dr. Veritas, raise the chamber shield and grab the circuit board, slot it into the terminal and run the machine, kill every Tediore enemy that spawns, then escort the flattened Verita to the reversion pad and hit the console to restore her.
Where The Parting of the Ways starts and what gates it
The quest giver sits inside a lab in the Vinechoked Canopy, and the start point shows on the map like any other side mission marker. Access to the mission is tied to The Lost Resort content and the FL4K class, so the marker only becomes usable once you have both.

Kill the Tediore forces that raid the lab
Moments after the experiment goes wrong, Tediore units breach the lab with orders to terminate Veritas. The objective switches to killing them, and the mission will not progress until the room is clear. Enemies come in waves and funnel through the doorways, so holding an angle on one entrance is more reliable than running the room.

Most of what shows up is armored, which is why corrosive weapons clear the fight fastest. Shielded variants also appear, so expect to break a shield before the corrosive damage starts eating the frame underneath.
| Enemy | Notes |
|---|---|
| Radioactive Supervisor | Elemental leader unit in the ambush waves |
| Voltaic Frame | Standard shock-element frame |
| Chilled, Toxic and Searing BladeFrame | Melee frames, some with shields |
| Searing BadassFrame | Tougher badass variant, highest health pool of the wave |
| Tediore On Specialist | Ranged infantry |
| Caustic Hands On Specialist | Ranged infantry with corrosive attacks |

The Parting of the Ways rewards
Completion pays out experience, cash, a cosmetic, and a weapon. The figures below are what the mission hands over at level 70.
| Reward | Details |
|---|---|
| Experience | 89,524 XP |
| Cash | Standard mission payout |
| Gun skin | Chewed Up |
| Weapon | Inconceivable Prisma-Blaster (Level 70, Item Score 749, 72,551 DPS) |
Tip: the now-empty test chamber is a convenient spot to fire off the Prisma-Blaster and see how it behaves before you head back out.
How to confirm the mission finished and why it stalls
You know it worked when Veritas stands back up at full volume, the mission complete banner appears, and the reward summary lists the XP, cash, skin, and gun. The quest then moves out of your active tracker.
There are only two realistic sticking points. If the escort objective refuses to advance, a straggler from the Tediore waves is still alive somewhere in the lab, or the glowing crate on her route has not been destroyed. Sweep the room, break the crate, and the escort resumes on its own.
Because the mission is contained to a single lab and its immediate surroundings, it is one of the quicker side missions to knock out in the Vinechoked Canopy, and the corrosive loadout you bring for the ambush carries over neatly to the rest of the area’s frame enemies.
