Clear both Westfall mines, hit the kill counts, and turn the quest in to Alba Fairmoon for XP and Stormwind rep.

The State of the Mines is a level 14 Alliance quest in Westfall that sends you to break up the Defias mining operation across two sites. You pick it up from Alba Fairmoon at Sentinel Hill, and it forms part of the Toxic Soil storyline that eventually leads into the Deadmines.

Quick answer: Kill 6 Riverpaw Miners in the Gold Coast Quarry and 4 Kobold Diggers in the Jangolode Mine, then return to Alba Fairmoon at Sentinel Hill to turn it in.

Quest requirements and objectives

Both objectives take place entirely within Westfall, so no zone travel is needed. The quest is sharable, which means anyone in your group who is on it can benefit from the same kills if you tag targets together.

  • Level 14 (requires level 9), Alliance side
  • Start and end with Alba Fairmoon at Sentinel Hill
  • Slay 6 Riverpaw Miners in the Gold Coast Quarry
  • Slay 4 Kobold Diggers in the Jangolode Mine

The two mines hold more than just the quest targets. Defias Pillagers, Defias Looters, Riverpaw Brutes, and Defias Trappers roam the tunnels, so expect to fight through extra enemies to reach your counts.
