Keira Metz is the first sorceress Geralt can sleep with in The Witcher 3, and her romance turns on a handful of specific dialogue choices spread across two quests. Miss the timed line during Wandering in the Dark or refuse her later game, and the encounter slips away. Get the picks right, and it costs you nothing with Triss or Yennefer down the line.
Quick answer: Pick “Just don’t faint on me” when Keira collapses in Wandering in the Dark, play along with her Prince Charming fantasy in A Favor for a Friend, then accept her offer with “Don’t have to ask me twice” to trigger the scene.

Quests you must finish before the romance opens
Keira’s romance is not guaranteed. It sits at the end of a short chain of Velen quests, and you only reach the decisive conversation by clearing the ones before it. None of these earlier quests lock you out on their own, but you have to work through them in order.
| Order | Quest | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Hunting a Witch | Geralt meets Keira at her hut near Midcopse |
| 2 | Wandering in the Dark | Contains the first romance-flag choice |
| 3 | A Towerful of Mice | Lift the curse on Fyke Isle |
| 4 | A Favor for a Friend | The quest where the romance actually happens |
After Hunting a Witch, Keira joins Geralt in the search for Ciri. Working through Wandering in the Dark and then A Towerful of Mice on Fyke Isle brings you back to her hut, where A Favor for a Friend begins.

Add to Google Preferences →The timed choice in Wandering in the Dark
During Wandering in the Dark, Geralt and Keira reach a point where you have to stay inside her magical shield while the Hounds of the Wild Hunt attack. Several rifts open across the area, and you need to close them one by one.
Once the final rift is sealed, Keira sways and falls against Geralt, and a timed dialogue prompt appears with two options:
- Just don’t faint on me
- If you can’t go on
Select Just don’t faint on me before the timer runs out. This raises Keira’s romance level and is the groundwork the later scene builds on.
The prompt is short, so have it selected quickly. If the timer expires on the wrong line, you lose the head start on her romance.

A Favor for a Friend: the choices that matter
After you lift the curse on Fyke Isle in A Towerful of Mice, return to Keira’s hut. She asks Geralt to recover a package that never arrived, and finishing that errand leads straight into the romance.

How you know the romance worked
Afterward, Geralt and Keira lie side by side, watching the stars. She uses magic to lull him to sleep; by the time he wakes, she has left, making her way back toward Fyke Isle. The scene wraps up A Favor for a Friend and unlocks the ensuing quest, For the Advancement of Learning—the clearest sign that the romance has been triggered.
This is Keira’s only romance scene, and it stays strictly casual. Sleeping with her does not affect your relationship with Triss or Yennefer, and you can still commit to either of them later. If you skip the romance entirely, Keira can still be recruited for the fight against the Wild Hunt.
