Unlock Every Room in Olaf's Grand Exhibition (Dreamlight Valley)

Unlock Every Room in Olaf's Grand Exhibition (Dreamlight Valley)

Olaf's Grand Exhibition works like a museum inside Disney Dreamlight Valley, with a separate room for every biome. You don't unlock those rooms by paying Star Coins or waiting on a timer. Each room opens only after you fully complete the one before it, and a room counts as complete when all three of its displays are filled.

Quick answer: To open the next biome room, finish all three sections of your current room. That means completing the Aquarium, the Diorama, and the Habitat. Once the Peaceful Meadow room is done, the Dazzle Beach room becomes available, and the pattern repeats for each biome.

How room progression works in Olaf's Grand Exhibition

Every room is split into three displays, and each display has its own set of requirements. The order you complete them in doesn't matter, but you cannot move to the next biome until all three are done.

The three displays are consistent across every room:

  • Aquarium holds the fish and seafood caught in that biome.
  • Diorama covers the memories and events tied to that biome, built from gathered crafting materials.
  • Habitat houses the critters that live in that biome, added as animal companions.

You start with the Peaceful Meadow room. Clearing it unlocks the Dazzle Beach room, and finishing each later room continues to open the next biome in sequence.

Unlock the Grand Exhibition building first

Before any rooms exist, you need the building placed in your valley. This requires the character Olaf from Frozen to be unlocked, since the quest is tied to him.

Step 1: Speak to Olaf and select the Olaf's Grand Exhibition option to begin the quest. He already has the blueprint, and Scrooge McDuck agrees to construct the museum.

Step 2: Open the Furniture menu, switch to the Requests tab, and place the Grand Exhibition building anywhere in the valley you like.

Step 3: Head inside and talk to Olaf again. He explains the room layout and walks you over to the Peaceful Meadow room to start the first set of displays.

Complete the Peaceful Meadow Aquarium

Three podiums sit in front of the display cases. The Aquarium podium needs a set of gems, all of which can be mined in the Peaceful Meadow.

After you place the gems, a glowing scroll appears under the Aquarium. That's the cue to add fish caught from Peaceful Meadow ponds. The bubble color tells you what each spot will yield.

Complete the Peaceful Meadow Diorama

The Diorama is the longest part of the room. Start by unlocking the display case with a set of flowers, all found around the Peaceful Meadow.

With the case open, Olaf reveals four panels, each needing its own pile of materials. Interact with each panel separately to deposit what it asks for.

PanelRequired materials
Forever Fishing51x Softwood, 31x Seaweed, 5x Red Algae, 16x Dream Shards
Thorns in Your Side14x Softwood, 10x Coal Ores, 1x Onyx, 5x Night Shards
Friendship Falters31x Softwood, 24x Stones, 2x Garnets, 3x Peridots
Knock Knock67x Softwood, 21x Soil, 5x Rich Soil, 7x Dream Shards

Softwood comes from foraging, gems and stone from mining, soil and shards from digging, and seaweed and red algae from fishing. After all four panels are filled, the Diorama is complete, and you earn the Peaceful Meadow Diorama Pillar, Diorama Mirabel, Diorama Goofy, and Diorama Thorns.

💎
Note: Dream Shards are slow to gather. They drop from clearing Night Thorns, which respawn at a rate of 10 per day, and from feeding critters their favorite food once per day. Plan a few real-world days if you're short.

Complete the Peaceful Meadow Habitat

The final display starts with a food-based podium. Most of these items grow or spawn right in the Peaceful Meadow, with apples and raspberries pulled from trees and bushes.

Once the case opens, you add critters that belong to the biome. The Peaceful Meadow's only critters are rabbits, and you need all five variants. A rabbit becomes a companion you can place after you feed it its favorite food twice, and every rabbit type prefers Carrots. Each variant only appears during set hours on certain days, so the schedule matters.

How you know the next room unlocked

Olaf's Grand Exhibition glade of trust doorway in DDV

With the Aquarium, Diorama, and Habitat all filled, the Peaceful Meadow room is finished and you can walk into the Dazzle Beach room to begin its three displays. Each biome room follows the same structure, and each Dazzle Beach display awards its own reward, including the Dazzle Beach Button-Up Top for the Diorama, the Dazzle Beach Aquarium, and the Dazzle Beach Companion Home for the Habitat.

If a room won't open, the cause is almost always an unfinished display. Double-check that all four Diorama panels are filled, that every required fish is in the Aquarium, and that all five rabbit variants have been added to the Habitat. The most common holdup is the Diorama, since it demands the largest material counts and the rarest Dream Shards. Clear those three displays, and the next biome room is yours to start.
