Unlocking Cursed Energy Discharge in Kaizen — Requirements, Farming, and Full Ability Breakdown

Cursed Energy Discharge is a permanent Cursed Technique in Kaizen that channels Ryu's relentless cursed energy into a ranged, high-DPS moveset. It revolves around firing devastating energy blasts at a distance, and its ultimate ability opens a full Domain Expansion. Getting it requires farming a specific World Boss and gathering a hefty stack of materials — or spending Robux to skip the grind entirely.

Quick answer: Open the Cursed Technique shop via Dr. Shiro Kato in the school courtyard (or the red Shop button on screen), navigate to Permanent Cursed Techniques, and craft Cursed Energy Discharge with 3,000,000 Yen, 50 Grade 2 Cores, 35 Grade 1 Cores, 25 Cursed Hair Strands, and 10 Cursed Comb Fragments. Alternatively, buy it outright for 919 Robux.

Grade 1 Cores35Cave Mole, Cursed Wolf, Cyclops, Grin Curse, Koraker Curse, and othersVaries by enemy
Cursed Hair Strands25Ryu World Boss50%
Cursed Comb Fragments10Ryu World Boss9%

The bottleneck is almost always the Cursed Comb Fragments. At a 9% drop chance per Ryu World Boss kill, expect to defeat the boss dozens of times before you collect all ten. Cursed Hair Strands drop at a much more forgiving 50% rate, so you'll likely finish those well before the Comb Fragments are done.

📍
The Ryu World Boss spawns near South-East Shibuya. Head there and wait for the boss to appear — it's the only enemy in the game that drops Cursed Hair Strands and Cursed Comb Fragments.

The boss also drops two cosmetic items: Ryu's Jacket at an 18% rate and Ryu's Necklace at 45%. These aren't needed for the technique but are worth picking up while you farm.

Stepwise Unlock Process

Step 1: Farm the Ryu World Boss at South-East Shibuya until you have 25 Cursed Hair Strands and 10 Cursed Comb Fragments. Bring friends or a strong build — the boss hits hard, and faster kills mean more attempts per session.

Step 2: Collect 50 Grade 2 Cores by defeating mid-tier enemies like Beetle Curse, Demon Head, and Frozen Corpse. These enemies are spread across multiple zones, so fight whichever ones you encounter during normal play.

Step 3: Gather 35 Grade 1 Cores from stronger enemies such as Cave Mole, Cursed Wolf, Cyclops, Grin Curse, and Koraker Curse. These tend to be tougher fights, so make sure your level and gear are up to the task.

Step 4: Accumulate at least 3,000,000 Yen if you haven't already. Regular combat and quests should cover this over time, especially while you're farming the other materials.

Step 5: Talk to Dr. Shiro Kato — the NPC in a lab coat standing to the left of the Principal in the school courtyard. You can also tap the red Shop button on the left side of your screen. Inside the shop, open the Permanent Cursed Techniques tab and select Cursed Energy Discharge to craft it.

💰
If you'd rather skip the entire farming process, you can purchase Cursed Energy Discharge directly from the same shop menu for 919 Robux.

Full Ability Showcase

Cursed Energy Discharge is built around ranged cursed energy attacks with strong sustained damage. Every skill scales with your Cursed Energy stat, and the moveset progressively unlocks as you raise your Mastery Level with the technique equipped.

AbilityMastery LevelEffect
Granite Blast0Fires a direct cursed energy blast in a straight line, dealing solid single-target damage.
Granite Rain20Leaps into the air and rains cursed energy blasts over an area below. Strong for hitting grouped enemies and PvE crowd control.
Beam Ring65Charges two powerful beams that lock onto and track a target, dealing sustained damage while stunning the enemy.
Every Last Drop80A supercharged version of Granite Blast. After a charge-up period, it fires a massive blast that lingers for several seconds, dealing heavy damage over time.
Absolute Granite125Domain Expansion. Deals damage on activation. While active, all skill damage is increased, cooldowns are shortened, and every skill gains auto-aim inside the domain.

Granite Blast is your bread-and-butter from the moment you equip the technique. Granite Rain adds valuable AoE for grinding mobs. Beam Ring introduces crowd-control utility with its stun, making it useful in both PvE and PvP. Every Last Drop is a high-commitment nuke — the charge-up leaves you vulnerable, but the lingering damage output is significant. Absolute Granite at Mastery 125 is the capstone, turning you into a turret inside your own domain with boosted damage, faster cooldowns, and auto-tracking on every ability.

Best Clan Pairing — Ishigori Clan

Because every ability in the Cursed Energy Discharge kit runs on cursed energy output, the Ishigori Clan is the strongest clan match. Its signature passive, Flawless Flow, raises your Cursed Energy regeneration rate and lowers skill cooldowns — directly feeding the technique's spammy, energy-hungry playstyle.

The Ishigori Clan's stat bonuses when equipped break down as follows:

StatBonus
Melee+10
Cursed Energy+10
Stamina+9
Defense+13
Weapon+6
Cursed Energy %+3.75%
Health %+3.75%
Max Cursed Energy %+8%

The +8% Max Cursed Energy bonus is the standout here. A larger energy pool means more casts before you run dry, and the percentage-based Cursed Energy bonuses scale your damage further as you invest stat points. Speaking of which — pour your free stat points into Cursed Energy to get the most out of this technique. The flat +10 Cursed Energy from the clan stacks on top of whatever you allocate manually, and the percentage bonuses multiply the total.

Farming Tips and Common Pitfalls

The Ryu World Boss is a shared spawn, meaning other players in your server will also be fighting it. Damage contribution matters, so make sure you're dealing enough to qualify for drops. If the boss dies too quickly for you to contribute, consider server-hopping to find a less crowded instance.

Grade 1 and Grade 2 Cores are not exclusive to any single enemy. You'll passively accumulate them while doing other content, so don't feel pressured to dedicate separate farming sessions for cores unless you're short on a specific tier.

⚠️
Cursed Comb Fragments at 9% drop rate are the biggest time sink. Budget your farming sessions around this item — everything else will likely be finished long before you hit 10 fragments.

Once you've crafted Cursed Energy Discharge and it appears in your technique list, equip it and start building Mastery through combat. The technique doesn't reach its full potential until Mastery Level 125, when Absolute Granite becomes available, so consistent use is key. Pairing it with the Ishigori Clan from the start ensures your damage and energy economy stay strong throughout the entire leveling process.
