Unlocking the Jungle Map in Far Far West: Papa Marquette Files Walkthrough

Unlocking the Jungle Map in Far Far West: Papa Marquette Files Walkthrough

The Jungle map in Far Far West sits behind a three-part questline on the Far Far North map, handed out by an NPC called Trackman. Finishing the trio of objectives under the "Papa Marquette Files" board permanently unlocks Jungle on your map select once you extract successfully.

Quick answer: Travel to Far Far North, find Trackman near the train (golden envelope icon on the map), and complete all three Papa Marquette Files quests β€” The North Mirrors, The Frozen Snowmen, and The Incomplete Logbook β€” then kill the boss and extract.

Before you start

You need access to Far Far North first, which itself is gated behind earlier progression on Far West, Canyon, and Area 41. Running the Jungle unlock on Easy difficulty is the practical choice β€” most of the steps require you to stand still at panels, photo boards, or interact with mailbags while enemies push you.

The reward panel on Trackman's quest menu lists JUNGLE MAP, and once it shows "REWARD ALREADY UNLOCKED!", the map is yours on future runs. All three quests must be completed in the same successful extraction for the unlock to register.

Finding Trackman on Far Far North

Spawn into Far Far North and open your map. Look for a golden envelope icon β€” that marks Trackman's position next to a building near the large train. Walk up to him and press E to open The Papa Marquette Files menu.

QuestObjective
#1 The North MirrorsRealign mirrors to find old mailbags
#2 The Frozen SnowmenPlow through frozen mailmen to retrieve delivery routes
#3 The Incomplete LogbookFollow post office clues to recover the missing logbook page

You can tackle them in any order, but the mirror puzzle is the longest, so most players knock it out first while the run is fresh.

Quest 1: The North Mirrors

Select The North Mirrors from Trackman's menu. Four mirror stations are scattered across the snowy map, each with a control panel offering F prompts for ORIENT UP, ORIENT DOWN, TURN LEFT, and TURN RIGHT. Your job is to chain a laser beam through all four mirrors so it strikes a frozen wall hiding a small house.

Step 1: Follow Trackman to the first mirror and use the panel to angle the beam toward the second mirror's location. The laser is visible in the air, which makes alignment straightforward.

Step 2: Travel to the second mirror and aim the redirected beam southeast toward the third mirror, which sits on top of a mountain.

Step 3: Climb to the third mirror and again redirect the beam southeast, this time pointing at the fourth and final mirror on a frozen ship.

Step 4: At the ship, line the last mirror up with a wall of ice. Once the beam connects, the ice shatters and reveals a frozen house. Enter, pick up the mailbag with F, and the screen will display "Quest done! Kill the boss and extract to complete the quest!"

Tip: If the beam isn't reaching the next mirror, you usually need to nudge the orientation up or down by one step. The laser path is rendered live, so adjust until the line clearly connects.

Quest 2: The Frozen Snowmen

Return to Trackman and select The Frozen Snowmen. Three frozen mailmen are marked on the map with question marks. Each one must be broken open by sliding into it at high speed β€” shooting works as a fallback, but momentum is the intended method.

Step 1: Find the first snowman. If you can't build enough speed, shoot it apart and grab the item with the F COLLECT DELIVERY ROUTE prompt.

Step 2: For the second snowman, sprint, jump, and slide into it. The slide impact at full speed shatters the ice cleanly. Pick up the route.

Step 3: The third snowman has a wooden frame nearby β€” jumping through it boosts your speed enough for a guaranteed slide break. Collect the final delivery route, and the quest-done message appears again.

Quest 3: The Incomplete Logbook

This is the longest quest in terms of travel. Select it from Trackman, then head to the post office building marked on your map.

Step 1: Inside the post office, pick up the torn photo pieces with F PICK UP and place each one on the board using F PLACE IMAGE until the image is whole. The completed photo shows a hunter's house.

Step 2: Pick up the assembled photo and travel to the hunter house location shown on the map. Drop the photo with F DROP when you arrive.

Step 3: Search behind the wooden crane near the hunter house to find a second photo depicting a cave. Pick it up and check the map for the cave marker.

Step 4: Enter the cave and follow it to the end. A third photo is waiting there, this one showing a bridge.

Step 5: Travel to the bridge, jump down to the lower platform, and look for a piece of paper attached to a wooden beam underneath. Pick it up β€” that's the missing logbook page, a list of names and addresses. The quest-done banner will appear.

Finishing the run

None of the three completion banners actually unlock Jungle on their own. The game needs a clean mission close, which means killing the regional boss on Far Far North and reaching an extraction point alive.

Once you extract, the next time you open the Papa Marquette Files menu, the JUNGLE MAP reward will read "REWARD ALREADY UNLOCKED!", and Jungle will appear in your map selection on the world stage.

⚠️
If you die or fail extraction, any quest progress from that run does not carry over. Plan to finish all three Papa Marquette quests plus the boss in a single deployment.

Common reasons the unlock doesn't trigger

IssueWhy it happens
Only one or two quests completedAll three Papa Marquette Files quests must be done in the same run
Boss not defeatedThe mission must register as a successful completion
No extractionDying or leaving early voids the run's progress
Wrong mapTrackman and the questline only exist on Far Far North

With Jungle unlocked, you gain access to the next set of map-specific collectables and music disc fragments tied to that biome, alongside the standard extraction loop.
