The skill refund shrine in VV: Ultimatum lets you reset individual skill points for free, without paying Robux to wipe your entire skill tree. It sits inside a hidden room that only opens after you finish the Mystery Statue quest in the Soul Society Outskirts. Reaching it means clearing the tutorial, beating a swamp boss, and catching a rare server-wide enemy spawn.
Quick answer: Reach level 15 and talk to Clint near the three statues past Sweetwater Pass. Bring the Intelligence Extract (tutorial reward), the Strength Extract (Crocodile King in the Swamp), and the Masked Hollow Man Extract (secret Hollow boss in the Soul Society Outskirts). Place all three into the matching statues, then step through the portal that appears to reach the refund shrine.

Start the Mystery Statue quest at Clint (level 15)
The quest comes from an NPC named Clint. From the Sweetwater Pass spawn point, walk straight forward until you reach him. He stands across the road from three large statues, a fallen tree trunk, and a broken staircase, so the spot is hard to miss.
Clint only offers the quest once your character is at least level 15. If the quest dialogue does not appear, you are underleveled. Clear the available quests around Sweetwater Pass and prioritize the red main story missions, since those give the most experience. Defeating enemies while you travel also adds up. Once you hit level 15, talk to Clint again and accept the quest.

Add to Google Preferences →The three extracts you need
Each extract is a glowing colored orb marked as a Quest Item, so it is easy to spot in your inventory. Every orb goes into its own matching statue at Clint’s location, and the order you place them does not matter.
| Extract | Color | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Intelligence Extract | Blue orb | Awarded for finishing the tutorial |
| Strength Extract | Green orb | Crocodile King boss in the Swamp |
| Masked Hollow Man Extract | Orange orb | Secret boss in the Soul Society Outskirts |
Intelligence Extract (tutorial reward)
The blue Intelligence Extract is the easiest to get. You receive it automatically once you complete the Fort Adams tutorial. There is no boss fight required to claim it.
You keep the extract whether or not you defeat Gelum, the tutorial end boss. When the Helpful Spirit prompts you, you can skip that fight and still hold onto the orb. Beating Gelum is still worth it, because the extra rewards are good and the encounter teaches you the basic controls before the harder content.

Strength Extract (Crocodile King in the Swamp)
The green Strength Extract drops from the Crocodile King boss in the Swamp. Two requirements gate this fight, so it usually takes the longest of the three.
- The quest that unlocks the Crocodile King fight only becomes available at level 35.
- You need the respirator to enter the Swamp. Without it, the toxic fumes kill you almost instantly.
Because of the level gate and the respirator requirement, expect the Mystery Statue quest to sit in your journal for a while as you build up to it. Once the Crocodile King falls, pick up the Strength Extract from the drop.

Masked Hollow Man Extract (secret boss spawn)
The orange Masked Hollow Man Extract is the hardest to track down. It drops from a secret boss that spawns at random somewhere in the Soul Society Outskirts, and the boss is not always available.
When the boss appears, a server-wide message reading “a big Hollow has appeared” shows up for everyone on the server. Treat that as your cue to stop what you are doing and start searching the Outskirts. The respawn timing is unpredictable, so missing the window can mean a long wait for the next chance.
Tip: Since the spawn is broadcast to the whole server, other players will rush the same location. Teaming up with them makes the fight faster and safer.

Place the extracts and open the shrine
You know it worked when the portal spawns after the third orb seats and the pink room opens on the other side. If no portal appears, you are still missing an extract or one has not been seated in its correct statue.

What the refund shrine does
Inside the pink room is a shrine you interact with to refund individual skills. That single function is the entire payoff of the quest. Without it, changing your build would mean resetting the whole skill tree, which normally costs Robux.
The free individual refund makes this one of the most useful early questlines to finish. It lets you undo early skill point mistakes, test different combinations, and adjust your build as the game updates. Once you have placed all three extracts and used the shrine, the Mystery Statue objective is complete.
