What launches on September 23
This free update puts Narin in the spotlight, a Korean-inspired ice frame whose playstyle combines cold effects with shield-based durability. Glacial Defiance is not in the day-one build
The six-player Glacial Defiance mode will not launch on September 23. Digital Extremes says it needs additional bug fixes and polish, so its release has moved to a date in the window between September 23 and October 15. The connected Riven Ascension feature, which adds new Riven combo stats, is delayed as well.
Everything else advertised for the update still ships on the 23rd, so Narin, Citrine Prime and the Banshee rework all go live as planned.
How to know the update is live
Once the release window hits, the download prompt appears when you open Warframe on PC or console. There is often a short technical delay of about 5 to 10 minutes on deployment, so if the update does not show at exactly 11 am EDT, wait a few minutes and restart the client before assuming anything is wrong.
Banshee owners have an extra reason to log in early. A free base Banshee, bundled with a built Forma, is available to claim by logging in between September 23 and 11:59 pm ET on October 7.
