Flash Freeze is a snowed-in Imperial facility on the Frozen Terror route, and its nine collectibles all sit just off the critical path. Eight are Secrets and one is a Purity Seal, and reaching them means shooting through ice walls, dropping into holes, and squeezing along hidden passages the main objective never forces you into. Here is every pickup in the order you naturally reach it, with the exact trigger and reward for each.
Quick answer: Flash Freeze holds 8 Secrets and 1 Purity Seal. Most need you to break ice or find a concealed side route, and you must reach the level exit after grabbing new ones so the count saves.

Every Machine Spirit upgrades whichever weapon you are holding at the moment of pickup, so switch to the weapon you want improved before you break the ice in front of it.
Secret 1: Machine Spirit in the opening room
The first Secret is easy to miss while making for the exit. Before using the door in room one, check the space behind the boxes on the left. An ice block sits there; one shot destroys it, revealing a Machine Spirit floating beyond. Take it to raise the counter to 1/8.
Console arena: Secrets 2, 5, and 6
Past the first door you reach a large open area with frozen enemies and two locked consoles, marked with the red and purple symbols. Three Secrets hide around this single arena, so clear it carefully before moving on.
Secret 2: Grenade Boost in the floor hole
To the left of the consoles there is a square hole cut into the ground. Drop in to grab the Grenade Boost and tick the counter to 2/8. If you rush ahead with the fight, you will have to backtrack to this spot.
Secret 5: Machine Spirit on the right wall
Stick to the right-hand wall of the arena until you spot metal structures with a frozen hole underneath them. Break the ice, drop down, and keep going until you climb back up the far side. The moment you grab the first platform on the way up, look left. A Machine Spirit sits in a small alcove right next to the platforms, which takes you to 5/8.
Secret 6: Boltgun magazine in the left passage
Still in the same arena, look to the left just past the consoles for a frozen passage. Break the ice, step inside, and collect the Boltgun magazine waiting at the end to reach 6/8.
Red key buildings: Secrets 3 and 4

Leave the consoles by moving left into the buildings containing the red key. In room three, face right to spot an opening behind the stacked boxes. Pass through and continue to the end of the route; there you’ll find a Boltgun magazine. Its pickup displays the “SECRET DISCOVERED” prompt and raises progress to 3/8.
Secret 4: Machine Spirit upgrade behind the switch
Once the red key is yours, stay in that room. Find and activate the wall switch to reveal a short side route; follow it to collect the Machine Spirit upgrade, bringing the total to 4/8. Equip the weapon you want improved before activating the switch, since the upgrade affects the weapon you have equipped.
Purple key route: Purity Seal and Secret 7
Purity Seal: in the small room off the path
On the way to the purple key, a small room branches off the main route. Enter it, clear the enemies inside, and pick up the Purity Seal once the fight ends. It comes with 50 Boltgun ammo and is the only Purity Seal on this level.
This is the single Seal that Flash Freeze contributes toward the “Purification Complete” achievement for collecting every Purity Seal in the game, so do not skip the side room.
Secret 7: Munitions Boost behind the skull
Starting at the purple key, locate the elevated area above the consoles, then take the route descending a set of stair-like structures. At the base of the final stair, shoot the skull concealed by ice to your right. Turn back toward the metal door that has opened and collect the Munitions Boost, bringing the count to 7/8.
Secret 8: Machine Spirit in the cave by the yellow door
The final Secret becomes available once the purple and red consoles are both active and you have descended on the lift. Enter the cave on the yellow door’s left and follow the passage to its end to pick up the Machine Spirit. Collecting it brings the level total to 8/8. Equip the weapon you plan to upgrade before entering the cave.
Confirming the count saved
Each pickup flashes an on-screen message the moment you touch it, either “SECRET DISCOVERED” or “YOU DISCOVERED A PURITY SEAL!”, and the tracker in the corner ticks up. A level’s total only locks in once you reach the exit, so finish Flash Freeze after grabbing anything new rather than quitting out mid-run. None of these are missable: if you leave something behind, the level stays open in Level Select and you can return to clean up the Secrets and the Seal at any time.
