Bedside Manner’s first chapter, St. Aldous, has two endings. Most players pry the planks off the hospital exit, start four generators outside, and reach Main Story Ending 1/2. The second route is hidden in the Janitor room. It sends you down into the basement, through a chase, and out a sewer pipe into a forest pond. That escape is Alternative Ending 2/2, and it awards the Washed Out badge.
Quick answer: After you get the Crowbar in the Janitor room, leave the exit planks alone. Pull the hidden red lever behind the boxes and shelving, then go through Stairwell B and survive the basement chase.
What triggers the Bedside Manner secret ending
Both endings follow the same path until the Janitor room. Once you collect the Crowbar there, the game shows the objective “Pry all the planks off the exit.” Following it locks you into the main ending. The alternate ending needs three things instead:
- The Janitor room is open and the Crowbar is in your inventory.
- The hidden red wall lever behind the storage boxes and shelving has been pulled.
- You enter the STAIRWELL B / BASEMENT door and reach the drain at the end of the tunnel.
Do not pry any planks off the exit door. That door leads outside to the generator section and the main ending, not to the badge.

Make a party from the lobby. Solo works fine, and a party holds up to four players. Pick Chapter 1: St. Aldous and start. On PC, F kicks, E interacts, and Q toggles the flashlight. Collect the colored code slips as you go, because you need all four for the keypad.

Janitor room keypad code
The keypad has colored lights that show the order to enter the digits. The numbers on the slips are not the same every match. One session gave 7782, and another gave a different code with different digits. So read your own slips and follow the light order on the keypad. Here is a sample run with the light order Blue, Red, Green, Purple:
| Keypad order | Color | Digit | Where it was found |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | Blue | 7 | Under the waiting-area vending machine |
| 2nd | Red | 7 | Under the smashed pipe valve |
| 3rd | Green | 8 | Inside the kicked hallway vent |
| 4th | Purple | 2 | Behind the Room 6 electrical box |
That run’s code was 7782. Once you enter the right code, the Janitor room opens. Break the crate inside to get the Crowbar.
Hidden lever and Stairwell B
The lever is easy to miss because it sits behind the clutter. You do not need to buy anything or meet any extra condition. You just need to squeeze into a tight gap.
Basement chase and Washed Out badge confirmation
The basement is one long tunnel, and you have to sprint the whole way. Hazards come at you from every side as you run:
- Falling debris from the ceiling
- Rolling gurneys and sliding crates
- Yellow caution cones in the way
- Monster arms reaching out of the wall vents
Drop into the drainage opening at the end of the shaft. A cutscene plays as you get carried through the sewer pipe and pushed out of an outflow pipe into a pond in the woods.
You can confirm it worked in two ways. First, the completion screen says “END OF CHAPTER 1 – ALTERNATIVE ENDING 2/2.” Second, a Roblox badge notification says you won ‘Washed Out’. If the screen says Main Story Ending 1/2 instead, you took the exit door and need to run the chapter again using the lever route.
