Water Your Garden Duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley (Godly Glamor)

Water 50 food crops with your Royal Watering Can, skip Cotton, and claim 20 Tokens.

Water 50 food crops with your Royal Watering Can, skip Cotton, and claim 20 Tokens.

The “water your garden” duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Godly Glamor Star Path looks like a simple chore, but it counts only certain plants toward progress. Knowing which crops qualify is the whole challenge here, since watering the wrong plant gives you nothing.

Quick answer: Use your Royal Watering Can on food crops 50 times. Only plants that produce an edible harvest count, so avoid non-food crops like Cotton.

How to complete the water your garden duty

The target is 50 separate waterings. Each crop you water with the Royal Watering Can adds to the count, as long as that crop is a food item you can later use at a cooking station. Watering a non-food plant does nothing for this duty.

Dig holes with your Royal Shovel and plant food crops. Vegetables are the easiest choice because there are so many of them, and every vegetable counts toward the task.
Equip the Royal Watering Can and water the freshly planted, wilted crops. Each watering action registers, so spreading plants across the ground and watering them one after another builds your total quickly.
Keep watering until you reach 50. Crops that pause their growth and turn brown will need water again, and those follow-up waterings also count, so you can reuse the same plants across their growth cycle.

Tip: Bring a villager you want to level along for the ride, such as Hercules or Phil, to bank friendship points while you knock out the 50 waterings.

Crops that count for the water your garden duty

Any plant that yields an ingredient you can cook with will work. Cotton and similar crafting-material crops do not count because they cannot be cooked. The confirmed food crops below all register toward the duty.

Why the duty might not progress, and how to confirm it

If your count is not moving, you are almost certainly watering a non-food crop. Cotton is the most common offender, so switch to vegetables and the tally will climb. Watering a plant that is already fully watered only resets its timer and does not add to the duty.

You will know the duty is done the moment you hit 50 waterings, as the Star Path duty marks complete and pays out 20 Tokens to spend in the Godly Glamor event. From there you can move on to the other Godly Glamor duties, including trying on the Ivory and Gold Toga Dress, cooking a nearly perfect appetizer, and harvesting something sweet.
