Multi-Hit is one of the easiest stats in AION 2 to misread. When it triggers, you see a burst of extra damage numbers after a skill lands. Each of those numbers is small. Some players unlock a guaranteed Multi-Hit on a 7,000-damage nuke and then watch the follow-up hits land for double digits. The stat works as intended. It is simply built to add a modest amount of damage rather than repeat the attack.
Quick answer: Multi-Hit Chance adds up to four extra hits after an attack. Each hit deals a small share of the original damage, and the original hit stays intact, so every proc is pure bonus damage.

How Multi-Hit damage works in AION 2
The tooltip describes the stat as adding up to four hits that scale with Attack. In practice, the rules work out like this:
- A proc adds between one and four extra hits to the triggering attack.
- The original hit still deals its full damage. The extra hits stack on top of it.
- Extra hits do not repeat crowd control. A stun skill does not stun again on each bonus hit.
- Extra hits can trigger weapon Theostone and Godstone effects, such as paralysis or elemental damage. Hidden internal cooldowns limit how often those effects fire.
- In PvP, Multi-Hit Resist on the target works against your Multi-Hit Chance.
The size of each bonus hit explains why the stat feels weak at first. A full four-hit proc adds only a few percent of the original hit per strike. On a guaranteed trigger, a 1,000-damage skill adds four hits of about 22 damage each, for a total of roughly 1,088. That works out to just under 9% more damage from that cast. The exact percentage per hit is not shown anywhere in the game, but it always stays in the low single digits.
At low levels, base damage is small enough that Multi-Hit procs can show as 1-damage hits. This is not a bug. It is the same small percentage applied to a small number.

Add to Google Preferences →Multi-Hit vs. Double Chance
Both stats add damage after an attack lands, so they are easy to confuse. They do very different amounts of work. Double Chance was called Smite in the Asian versions of the game, and some players still use that name.
| Stat | What a proc does | Countered by |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-Hit Chance | 1–4 small extra hits | Multi-Hit Resist |
| Double Chance | Doubles the hit’s damage | Double Resist |
A Double Chance proc is worth a second copy of the whole attack. A Multi-Hit proc is worth a fraction of one. When you compare equal percentages on gear, do not treat a Multi-Hit line as another full attack.
Where to get Multi-Hit Chance
Only a few systems grant Multi-Hit, and most of them are restricted to specific gear slots or skills:
| Source | How it applies | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Soul Bind substat | Random roll on gear | Weapons and guards only |
| Skill specialties | Guaranteed trigger on that skill | Only certain skills |
| Stigma specialties | Chance bonus to a skill or a timed buff | Needs the required skill level |
| Pet Genus Insight | Random roll | Fourth slot, pet level 7 |
Multi-Hit cannot roll on armor or accessories. If you want it as a gear stat, your only options are your weapon and your guard. Guaranteed triggers from skill specialties appear in many builds because they need no luck, unless that skill has a stronger specialty competing for the same slot. On pets, the Multi-Hit roll is rare and each new analysis costs Kina. It is better to save Genus Insight rerolls, especially for unique-tier Multi-Hit, until you have Kina to spare.

Battlefield Banner (Templar Stigma)
Battlefield Banner is a clear example of a Stigma that grants Multi-Hit. It is a Templar longsword skill that raises Attack in proportion to Defense for 10 seconds. At skill level 5, it also grants +10% Multi-Hit Chance while it is active.
| Skill level | Specialisation |
|---|---|
| 5 | +10% Multi-Hit Chance for duration |
| 10 | +10% Weapon Damage Boost for duration |
| 15 | +20% Attack increase proportional to Defense |
| 20 | -30s cooldown |
The skill requires character level 22 and costs 1 Stigma point. It deals Magic damage, can be used while moving, and caps at skill level 25. Its base cooldown is 90 seconds. The level 20 specialisation lowers that by 30 seconds, so the Multi-Hit window comes up more often.

Which AION 2 classes benefit from Multi-Hit
Multi-Hit comes from so few sources that most classes put their gear budget into other stats first, such as Might or extra skill levels. The stat pays off when a class lands many hits or turns extra hits into extra effects. Assassins attack quickly enough that frequent procs add up. Rangers also make good use of it. Sorcerers gain because Multi-Hit works well with their Blaze triggers. Multi-Hit also helps damage-over-time skills that have a Multi-Hit specialty, since slow single casts otherwise get little from it.
For any other class, a Multi-Hit roll on a weapon or guard is a pleasant bonus rather than something to chase. Take it when it comes with stats you already want, and do not give up a stronger line to get it.
