Galaxy Hour is a timed power window in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 that raises your odds of finding rare Galaxy Sprite variants. It runs as part of the season’s summer event, and it shows up as a countdown in the lobby before it begins. There are two separate sessions, and each one lasts a full two hours.

Quick answer: The first Galaxy Hour starts on June 27, 2026 at 2 PM ET and ends at 4 PM ET. A second session with the same rules runs the same day from 9 PM ET to 11 PM ET. Epic Games confirmed the window on its official community blog.

Galaxy Hour 1 starts: June 27, 2026 at 2:00 PM ET (EDT)

Both sessions land on the same day. The first is a daytime drop window in North America, and the second is an evening encore for anyone who misses the opener. Times below show the full two-hour window for each session.

The in-lobby countdown points to whichever session is next. When it hits zero, the modifiers switch on automatically, so you do not need to do anything to opt in. Galaxy Hour was originally a 60-minute window in earlier events, but Epic extended it to two hours to give players a longer stretch at the higher Sprite odds.

What changes during Galaxy Hour

Galaxy Hour rewrites part of the match flow while it is active. The headline change is the higher chance of Galaxy Sprite variants spawning, but the loadout and healing rules also shift, which affects how you approach early fights and looting.

Because every player carries a Self-Revive Device, downed opponents can pick themselves back up. If you knock someone, push to confirm the elimination instead of leaving them to recover. The Golden Fishing Spots and faster campfire healing both reward sticking near water and known healing spots between fights.

How to confirm Galaxy Hour is active

You know the window is live when the lobby countdown reaches zero and the Galaxy Hour modifiers turn on. In a match, the giveaway is that you spawn with the Firework Flare Gun and Self-Revive Device, and fishing spots glow gold. If you do not see those changes, the session has not started yet, so check the countdown again.

To get the most out of the two hours, drop fast, loot aggressively for Galaxy Sprites, and carry any you find to an Extraction Site to bank them. The higher spawn rate only matters if you survive long enough to extract, so play for the Sprite rather than chasing every fight.
