Where to Get Troll Riding Raptors in World of Warcraft (Sen’jin Village)

Riding raptors are the racial mounts of the troll race, and every color a Horde player can ride out of the gate comes from a single paddock in Durotar. Both the vendor who sells the mounts and the trainer who teaches you to ride them stand side by side, so one short trip covers everything.

Quick answer: Buy raptor mounts from Zjolnir <Raptor Handler> on the western edge of Sen’jin Village in southern Durotar, and learn Raptor Riding from Xar’Ti standing beside him.

Sen’jin Village location in Durotar

On Kalimdor, Sen’jin Village lies in southern Durotar, immediately north of the Echo Isles. Look along the village’s western side, where the raptors, their handler, and the riding trainer stand by the red rock cliff near 55.2, 75.3.

Two NPCs handle the raptor business, and they stand a step apart from each other by the pen:

Zjolnir <Raptor Handler> — sells the raptor mount whistles.
Xar’Ti <Raptor Riding Trainer> — teaches the Raptor Riding skill you need to use them.

Requirements to buy and ride a raptor

The mounts themselves are cheap, but you must have the matching riding skill trained before a whistle will do anything. Standard raptors need Apprentice riding; the swift epic raptors need Journeyman riding. Xar’Ti trains those skills right there next to Zjolnir.

Zjolnir sells raptors to trolls without an additional requirement, but every other race must first reach Exalted reputation with the Darkspear Trolls.

Six raptors are stocked at the pen, split evenly between standard mounts and swift (epic) mounts. Each is sold as a whistle item that adds the mount to your collection.

How to reach the raptor vendor

Travel to Durotar in Kalimdor. From Orgrimmar or the troll starting area, make your way to the main road that runs south through the zone.

Follow the road south past Razor Hill and keep going toward the coast. Sen’jin Village is the last settlement before the water, just north of the Echo Isles.

Enter the village and turn to the western side, walking to the base of the red cliff. The raptor pen and its two NPCs are lined up along the rock face.

Talk to Xar’Ti first to learn Raptor Riding if you have not trained it, then talk to Zjolnir and buy the raptor you want.

Confirming your raptor is ready to ride

After buying from Zjolnir, the whistle drops into your inventory and the mount is added to your Mounts collection. Once you have trained the correct riding skill from Xar’Ti, summon the raptor from the collection and your character will ride out on it. If the mount is greyed out or refuses to summon, you are missing the matching riding skill, or, on a non-troll character, the required Exalted standing with the Darkspear Trolls.
