Eastern Peak is the first subregion you reach in Qingzhou, the Version 2.3 region of Where Winds Meet. It holds 20 Wandering Tales. These are short side stories spread across Mount Tai, Cloudside Village, Crownleek Terrace, Seedling Temple, Wellspring Town, Tranquil Pier, and Licheng Terrace. Most are simple fetch-and-deliver jobs. Several of them only work at a specific hour on the in-game clock, and a few depend on other quests, so knowing those conditions saves the most time.
Quick answer: Finish Closer Than Family before A Heart’s Desire. Set the in-game clock to the listed hour for time-locked tales. Each completed tale pays 30 Echo Jade, 10 Qingzhou Exploration, 3,750 Coin, and 3,750 Stored EXP.
Eastern Peak Wandering Tales requirements and rewards
Qingzhou has its own entry gate. Your character must be at Character Level 32 and must have completed the main story Chapter 1, Heaven Has No Pier. That unlocks the Lost Chapter Away to Qingzhou, which opens the region. Once you are in Eastern Peak, selecting a Wandering Tale highlights the general area where it begins. From there, the quest’s own clues point you to the next step.
Every one of the 20 tales gives the same payout:

A tale is finished when the quest drops out of your active list and the reward pop-up appears. The 10 Qingzhou Exploration points are added to the region’s exploration progress at the same moment.
Time-locked tales: Required in-game hours
The NPCs in these tales only appear, or only respond, during certain hours of the traditional day cycle. If someone you are looking for is missing, change the in-game time to the hour listed below before you look anywhere else.

Quest chains and branching NPCs
Two dependencies change what you see in the world:
- A Heart’s Desire stays locked until Closer Than Family is done. If Old Man Liu is sitting alone at the Cloudside Village dumpling shop, you have not finished Closer Than Family yet.
- Fulfilling the Vow and Eroded Faith each point you to a different NPC, depending on the Buddha and the Cat encounter. Once you have completed it, speak to the elderly Buddhist master inside Seedling Temple; if not, visit Daoist disciple Shi Lifeng at the side shrine.
Mount Tai tales
Embroidering Clouds
Teleport to Rockspire Street and set the clock to Wu hour. Yang Huiniang is on the roof of the embroidery workshop. Inside the workshop, talk to Madam Yue and Shi Xue. Then pick up the Torn Pattern Page nearby and hand it to Shi Xue to close the tale.
A Favor of the Lord of Mount Tai
Wen Renqing starts this one near the archway at Mount Tai. He wants to find his brother.
Teleport to Wudafu Pine and follow the cliffside path to Wen Renzhuo. He gives you the Blessed Mount Tai Stone.
Take the stone back to Wen Renqing, then guide him to his brother. The tale completes once the two are reunited.
Cloudside Village tales
Closer Than Family
Do this one first in the village. At Wu hour, talk to Old Man Liu outside the dumpling shop. Go into the kitchen and speak with Zhang Quan, take the Plate of Dumplings, and serve it to Old Man Liu.
A Heart’s Desire
With Closer Than Family done, return to Cloudside Village during the day and talk to Li Zongyao.
Teleport to Wudafu Pine and climb the stone stairs to the pilgrim He Yuan. Give him food.
Go back to Li Zongyao to report, which finishes the tale.
Miles of Radiant Skies
Set the clock to Shen hour and find Yu Xiake in Cloudside Village. He has lost his bundle.
Track the thief, Gu Shangzhao, along the road, take the bundle back, and return it to Yu Xiake.
Crownleek Terrace and Greenshade Village tales
The Way of the Leek
Teleport to Crownleek Terrace and talk to Zhu Ling in the leek fields of Greenshade Village. Search the sheds for the torn manual pages and exam baskets, which make up the Super Leek Manual. Bring them back to Zhu Ling.
Crown Leek
This tale hides a clue inside an item, so the order matters.
B, go to Quest items, and select the Strange Fish. Click “Retrieve Object” to pull out the Cloth Strip in the Fish Belly.
A Bandit’s Gratitude
Pick up A Bag of Silver Coins on the southern slope of Crownleek Terrace. Set the time to Zi hour to trigger a bandit ambush. Defeat the bandits, then talk to Zhang Gou. Return to the fields at Wu hour and give the coins to Wang Ajiu.
Bread and Bun
Investigate Zhang Xu’s flatbread stall at Everbloom Bazaar. Find the misplaced Steamed Bun, then settle the dispute between Zhang Xu and Hao Zhiwei.
Seedling Temple tales
Missing Date Pits
Head to the small lake south of Greenshade Village, near Seedling Temple. Two bandits are bothering Zhang Huixing, an old man. Defeat them to begin the tale. Zhang has misplaced a basket of Qingzhou jujubes intended for Master Daojue, and you can replace it in two ways:
- Buy a fresh basket for 10 coins from Yu Yao, who leans against a tree up the hill by the temple wall.
- Search behind the bushes near the lake for the Scattered Date Pits, which deer have eaten.
Either one works, and the rewards are identical. Hand the jujubes to Zhang Huixing. He then learns that Master Daojue has left the temple, so he walks away and the tale ends.
Fulfilling the Vow
Find the young pilgrim Huang Bin outside Seedling Temple. Pick up his dropped prayer note (the Folded Note) by the wooden fence, then consult the temple masters. Who you report to depends on Buddha and the Cat. It is the old Buddhist master if that encounter is done, and Shi Lifeng in the side shrine if it is not.
Eroded Faith
Confront the bandit Zheng Butu near Stillwater Bay and recover the stolen temple donation bag. Return it at Seedling Temple between Chen and Wu hours, when Tie Zhensan is present. The same Buddha and the Cat branch decides which NPC appears at the temple.
Bond Through Muck
Visit the monk Huise at Seedling Temple around Shen hour. Then find his disciple Tian Yun chopping wood in the forest during the same hour. The second disciple, Gu Pu, appears at You hour. Carry the Letter of Severance: To Gu Pu and the Letter of Severance: To Tian Yun between the two over several daytime cycles. The tale closes with a three-way reconciliation.
Wellspring Town tales
All four tales here are delivery chains. The table shows who starts each one and who receives the final hand-off.

String of Goodwill begins under the large tree where Granny Wang sits. Take the Kite Diagram to Liu Ruyi. Then bring Liu Ruyi’s Coin Bag to Zhuge Feifei at Primary Hall.
Broken Blade of the Benevolent starts with Sun Jiu, a former bandit, in town. Deliver his wedding invitations to Captain Hu Yue at the escort agency.
Ink of Dreams takes place in Pinemist Pavilion. Resolve the argument with Wang Jindou, the pawn appraiser. Search the backyard for the painting and return it to Master Zhao Moshu.
Recluse starts with Jiang Zhenliu, a Raging Tides disciple, by Baotu Spring. Deliver his poetry collection to Master Zhuge Feifei, then report back to him.
Tranquil Pier and Licheng Terrace tales
Masterful Knife Skills
Between Chen and You hours, listen to the children arguing at Tranquil Pier. Get the Kitchen Knife and the Blade Secret Manual, then deliver both to Sun Azhuo.
Cart Path
Meet the chariot racer Qiao Run near Licheng Terrace. Register at the contest booth with Ma Nianyi, who hands over the Apex Chariot Contest Flyer. Then check on Master Jing Ziqi at the martial hall. His training conversations only trigger at Wei hour and Mao/Chen hours, so expect to change the clock more than once. Twenty Rules for Safe Driving is part of this chain.
Born For This
Find the swordsman Shen Hanyang near Twilight Bridge beside Licheng Terrace. Examine the weapons lying on the beach to start a challenge, then win the fight. He awards you the Stone Shard with a Thumb Carving. Take it to scholar Zhong Zifu to complete the final Eastern Peak tale.
After all 20 are done, the Eastern Peak entries in your Wandering Tales log should all read as complete, and you will have collected 200 Qingzhou Exploration toward the region. Penglai, Qingzhou’s second subregion, opens on October 29 and has its own set of tales.
