Where Winds Meet: Bright Sparks Walkthrough (Mirkvale Part 8)

Bright Sparks is a Wandering Tale in Where Winds Meet that sends you chasing after a group of missing children scattered across Heaven’s Threshold. It starts in Mirkvale, but almost none of it happens there — three of the four NPCs you need sit at completely different teleport points, and the quest will not move forward until you have spoken to all of them.

Quick answer: Talk to Senior Sister Bei in Mirkvale twice to start, speak to Senior Sister Fu nearby, then find Dai Diandian at Belfade Bridge, Liu Liuliu up Belfade Cliff (teleport to Welkin Way), and He Liangliang west of Soughing Knoll. Return to Mirkvale, eavesdrop on Senior Sister Fu, and report to Senior Sister Bei.

Bright Sparks quest location and requirements

Bright Sparks is part of the Mirkvale Part 8 Wandering Tales chain, so you need access to Mirkvale itself. Mirkvale sits deep in the valley west of Heaven’s Threshold, in the northernmost stretch of the Hidden Mountain, and that whole area only opened up once the Cloudstair was rebuilt during the Cloudtop Ascent event.

Note: this is not the Mirkvale Campaign quest with the Bell Toller boss fight. Bright Sparks is a much shorter Wandering Tale with no combat — it is entirely dialogue and travel.

Bright Sparks walkthrough (Mirkvale Part 8)

Start the quest in Mirkvale

Find Senior Sister Bei in Mirkvale and talk to her twice. The first conversation sets up the situation, and the second one is what actually starts Bright Sparks. If nothing appears in your quest log, you stopped after the first exchange.

Stay in the village and speak to Senior Sister Fu, who is standing a short walk away. She hands over the first real lead, and you should see the “Wandering Tales – New Clue Acquired” prompt on screen once the conversation ends.

Track down the three missing children

The order below is the fastest travel route, but the three children can be visited in any sequence. Each one is a single conversation with no fighting involved.

Open the map and teleport to Belfade Bridge. Head toward the flower field near Driftseed Moor and talk to Dai Diandian there.

Back on the map, select Welkin Way and teleport. From the landing point, make your way up Belfade Cliff.

Look for the pancake stall near the top of the cliff and speak to Liu Liuliu standing beside it.

Teleport to Soughing Knoll and drop a waypoint to the west before you set off. The camp you are heading for is off the main path, and the marker keeps you pointed at it.

At the camp, speak to Ying Yelan first, then talk to He Liangliang, who is being held inside a wooden cage. This is the last child you need.

Eavesdrop in Mirkvale and turn the quest in

Teleport back to Mirkvale. Senior Sister Fu is now with the gathered children, and the objective asks you to eavesdrop rather than interact — stand within range and let the conversation play out.

Return to Senior Sister Bei and talk to her to report what you heard. That final conversation closes Bright Sparks and pays out the rewards.

Because this is a Wandering Tale rather than a Campaign, the payout is small compared to the Mirkvale Campaign itself, which hands out Echo Jade x60, Hidden Mountain Exploration x110, and 55,500 each in Character EXP and Coin. The main draw here is regional exploration progress in Heaven’s Threshold.

How to tell the quest is progressing (and why it stalls)

Every successful lead throws up a “Wandering Tales – New Clue Acquired” banner. If you talk to an NPC and that banner does not appear, you either grabbed generic ambient dialogue or you are talking to the wrong person nearby.

Only one dialogue with Senior Sister Bei at the start — the quest needs both conversations before it appears in your log.
Heading back to Mirkvale early — the eavesdropping scene will not trigger until Dai Diandian, Liu Liuliu, and He Liangliang have all been spoken to.
Skipping Ying Yelan at the western camp — He Liangliang is behind that conversation, not standing out in the open.

Once Senior Sister Bei’s final line plays, the entry drops out of your active Wandering Tales and the Echo Jade lands in your inventory. From there you are free to carry on with the rest of the Mirkvale chain or head back into Heaven’s Threshold exploration.
