What counts as Cat Play in Goldflow Slope
The name is misleading here. Goldflow Slope’s Cat Play counter tracks one dog and one cat, not two cats. Petting the dog registers exactly the same as petting the cat, so skipping it will leave you stuck at 1/2 while you search the hillside for a second feline that does not exist.

Open the Sentient Beings exploration menu and select Goldflow Slope. The Cat Play entry should read 2/2 with a Collection Complete marker attached. If it still shows 1/2, you interacted with only one of the two animals, and the dog is the one people usually miss.
Note: Standing near an animal is not enough. The counter only moves when you select the Pet option and the interaction plays out.
Jade Fish stacks up quickly across a region if you clear these as you pass through, and the Goldflow Slope pair is one of the fastest sets in Hidden Mountain to knock out. Since both animals sit within a short walk of Halfpeak Bluff, it is worth grabbing them on any trip through the area rather than making a dedicated run later.
