Storm at the Grave is an encounter quest in Where Winds Meet that takes place in the Eastern Peak area of Qingzhou. It begins with a sudden rainstorm over a cliffside graveyard, where a weeping man named Big Li asks you to dig up a case buried at his family’s abandoned estate. The whole encounter is a short loop. You go from the graves to the ruined house, then back to the graves, with no combat along the way.
Quick answer: Shelter under the graveyard hut, talk to Big Li, dig up Big Li’s Case at the estate’s stone well, speak to Old Man Chen, then submit the case to Big Li.
Storm at the Grave rewards
The encounter pays out a fixed set of rewards once Big Li has his case back. The same bundle appears on the quest details panel as the Series Rewards, so you can check it before you commit.
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Echo Jade | 50 |
| Qingzhou Exploration | 50 |
| Coin | 22,500 |
| Stored EXP | 22,500 |
Jade Fish and Trace Jade counters can also tick up while you cross the area, since there are pickups along the route. Those come from the surrounding exploration content, not from the encounter’s reward screen.

The graveyard sits on rocky, grassy ground southeast of the village in Qingzhou Eastern Peak, south of the main road. Open the world map and drop a temporary waypoint there. Once you get close, the map shows a quest icon labeled “Storm at the Grave,” along with the encounter’s details panel.

If the message “Insufficient Exploration Progress in Qingzhou” pops up, Wallstride is disabled in this spot until you earn the zone’s exploration token. Walk around the cliffs instead of trying to climb them.
How the rain triggers the encounter
A heavy, localized downpour starts as you approach the graveyard, and the game prompts you to find shelter. The rain is part of the encounter itself, not random weather. Step under the small thatched wooden lean-to at the graveyard to start the quest. The rain stops instantly, your character remarks on how quickly it cleared, and the sound of crying begins nearby.

From then on, the weather follows a simple rule until the encounter ends:
- Inside the grave area, the sky stays clear.
- Outside the grave area, including the trip to the estate, it keeps raining.
- Once Big Li receives his case, the rain over the graves stops for good.
