World of Warcraft: Havoc in the Highlands Quest Guide (Falaath Village)

Clear the stormcallers, elementals, stolen supplies, and Commander Cyclas inside Falaath Village without wasting a lap.

Clear the stormcallers, elementals, stolen supplies, and Commander Cyclas inside Falaath Village without wasting a lap.

Havoc in the Highlands is a kill-and-collect quest in the Shen’dhar Highlands, and almost all of it happens inside one location: Falaath Village. The four objectives look long on the tracker, but they overlap heavily. The same pull that gives you a stormcaller kill usually drops a supply crate, and the boss sits a short run from where you enter.

Quick answer: Kill 6 Al’Aketh Stormcallers and 4 Living Lightning along the village path, loot 10 Stolen Shen’dhar Supplies from the bodies, then kill Commander Cyclas inside the ruined stone building and take his head.

Havoc in the Highlands objectives and where to complete them

Al’Aketh Stormcaller slain6Village path and road
Living Lightning slain4Village path, mixed with stormcallers
Stolen Shen’dhar Supplies10Looted from defeated enemies
Commander Cyclas’s Head1Ruined stone structure, rear balcony

Nothing here is spread across the zone. Falaath Village is flagged as a sanctuary area on approach, and every enemy you need stands on or beside the stone path that climbs through it.

Drop your disguise before you enter Falaath Village

Earlier quests in the area can leave you with a passive disguise or buff still ticking. If it is active when you walk in, you will not be able to start hitting anything. Check your buff bar on the run up the path and cancel any leftover disguise before your first pull.

Do this before you pull, not after. Discovering the problem mid-fight wastes the pull and the respawn timer.

Clear the stormcallers and Living Lightning along the path

Take the first Al’Aketh Stormcaller standing near the village entrance. Killing it moves the counter to 1/6 and confirms your disguise is gone.
Follow the road uphill through the village. The next cluster mixes stormcallers with Living Lightning elementals, so you can work both kill counters from the same stretch of road without doubling back.

Pull the Living Lightning elementals as you meet them. Each one you kill ticks the 0/4 objective, and they frequently sit next to a stormcaller, so a single pull can advance two objectives at once.

If other players are working the same objectives, invite them to a party and clear the stone path together. Grouping keeps the pulls short while the counters fill.

Kill Commander Cyclas and loot his head

Head into the ruined stone structure partway up the village. Cyclas does not patrol the road, so you have to go inside to reach him.
Move through to the back of the building. Commander Cyclas stands near the rear balcony, which is the only place he appears.

Kill him, then loot the body for Commander Cyclas’s Head. The objective flips to 1/1 the moment the item lands in your bags — it is a loot pickup, not an automatic credit on the kill.

Collect the 10 Stolen Shen’dhar Supplies

The supplies come off the enemies you are already killing, so treat this as a looting habit rather than a separate trip. Work your way back out through the structure and pick up everything from the bodies you left behind on the way in.

If you finish Cyclas before the count fills, the fix is simple. Go back to the path outside and keep killing Al’Aketh Stormcallers. The same enemies feed the 6/6 kill objective and the 10 supplies at the same time, so both finish together.

Confirming the quest is complete

You are done when all four lines on the quest tracker read full: 4/4 Living Lightning slain, 6/6 Al’Aketh Stormcaller slain, 1/1 Commander Cyclas’s Head, and 10/10 Stolen Shen’dhar Supplies. The tracker updates the instant each condition is met, so there is no delay to wait out.

Everything beyond that point is cleanup. Once the head is in your bags, the rest of the quest is nothing more than clearing enough of the village to top off the two counters, which is why it is worth looting every kill as you go rather than sprinting for the boss first.
