The Cirrusfly Queen is one of the first real difficulty spikes in the early Thendal Grove questing area. She sits in a nest of insect enemies a short run from the village, hits harder than anything around her, and will happily end a level 2 character that wanders in too early.
Quick answer: Run southeast from Thendal Village into Thendal Grove, kill the level 3 Cirrusfly Queen, loot her corpse, then return northwest and turn the quest in to Elatrell Featherlight.

The Cirrusfly Queen quest objective and quest giver
The quest is handed out in Thendal Village by Elatrell Featherlight, listed as one of the Rangers of Thendal Grove. The tracker shows a single objective, 0/1 Slay the Cirrusfly Queen, which flips to 0/1 Cirrusfly Queen slain once you are in the field. There is no collection count and no escort step, so the whole thing lives or dies on one fight.

Leave Thendal Village and head southeast along the path into the forested part of Thendal Grove. The objective area shows up on the world map as a highlighted patch, and the minimap fills with yellow dots once you get close, which are the Cirrusfly enemies themselves.

The Queen is not subtle. She is a large glowing red-and-black insect, noticeably bigger than the Cirrusfly Soldiers buzzing around her, and she gets a red targeting ring under her model when you select her. If you are looking at something small and dull-coloured, that is a Soldier, not your target.

Level requirement and what to do before pulling the Queen
The Queen is a level 3 enemy in a camp of level 1 and level 2 Cirrusfly Soldiers. Attempting her at level 2 is a coin flip at best. Clearing a few Soldiers first is the simplest way to close the gap, since they are weak, they drop Dropped Cirrusfly Stingers, and they hand out enough experience to push you over the line.
- Be level 3 before you pull her.
- Clear or avoid the Soldiers nearby so you fight her alone.
- Start at full health, since the fight runs long for a starting character.
- If another player is nearby, tagging her together makes the kill trivial.
The Soldiers will join in if you fight the Queen inside their patrol paths. Pull her to a clear patch of ground rather than standing in the middle of the nest.
How to kill the Cirrusfly Queen and loot her

Turn-in and rewards at Thendal Village
Back in the village, look for the yellow question mark floating over Elatrell Featherlight and hand the quest in. The payout is experience, a small amount of copper, and the Watcher’s Mail Chest as an armor upgrade over the starting gear most characters are still wearing.
The experience from the turn-in is usually enough to trigger a level up on its own, so this is a clean way to break out of the very early levels. While you are in the village, Uluun Suncrest runs the General Goods stall and will buy the junk you picked up on the way, including drops like the Clipped Claw and Ruined Pelt.
How to confirm the quest completed
Two checks tell you it worked. In the field, the objective line switches to show the Queen as slain the instant she dies, before you loot anything. After the turn-in, the quest drops out of your log entirely, the reward item lands in your bags, and the level up plays on screen.
If the objective never ticks, you killed a Cirrusfly Soldier rather than the Queen. Head back to the same spot, wait for her to respawn, and check for the larger model with the red targeting ring before you attack.
