World of Warcraft: Thunder Bluff Priest Trainer Location

The Priest trainers in Thunder Bluff are not on any of the open mesas. They stand inside a cave called The Pools of Vision, tucked directly beneath Spirit Rise, so players often walk right past the entrance without spotting it. The Undead trainer most players are sent to find is Malakai Cross.

Quick answer: Cross to Spirit Rise, turn right at the Bluffwatcher guards, and enter The Pools of Vision cave. Malakai Cross and the other Priest trainers wait inside along the cavern.

Where the Priest trainer is in Thunder Bluff

Thunder Bluff consists of natural mesas connected by rope bridges. Spirit Rise is the mesa to the northwest, accessible by bridges branching from the first and second levels of the central Main Rise. On its surface, the Hall of Spirits houses the Shaman trainers; the Priest and Mage trainers are below, in the cave named The Pools of Vision.

How to reach Malakai Cross

Make your way from Thunder Bluff’s central mesas toward Spirit Rise. Use the lower southwestern rope bridge, which slopes downward, to reach the rise.

As soon as you step off the bridge, turn right. Move past the Bluffwatcher guards toward the dark opening in the rock labelled The Pools of Vision.

Enter the cavern and follow the path across the wooden bridge that spans the glowing green pools. You will pass Clarice Foster along the way.

Continue to the earthen ramp and climb the small rise. Malakai Cross stands on the elevated ledge. Speak to him to open his training window.

The Mage trainers share this same cave, so a yellow nameplate that reads Archmage Shymm or Thurston Xane is not your target. Look for the tag under the name.

All Thunder Bluff Priest trainers

Three Priest trainers occupy The Pools of Vision, spread across the cavern. Any of them can teach you new abilities and higher ranks, so you can talk to whichever one you reach first. All three are Forsaken, since Tauren cannot be Priests.

Malakai Cross is the trainer most walkthroughs point to because his ledge sits close to the ramp you climb after crossing the pools. Father Cobb also gives Priest class quests such as Devouring Plague, so it is worth checking him for a yellow exclamation mark once you meet the level requirement.

How to confirm you found the trainer

You have reached the right NPC when the floating nameplate reads Malakai Cross with the title underneath. Interacting with him opens a dialogue window, and if you are playing a Priest you will see the option to browse and learn available spell ranks. Any character other than a Priest will only get a plain greeting with no training list, which confirms you are standing at the Priest trainer rather than a Mage one nearby.
