Requirements before you can enter Night City

The collab content runs through Phase 1 of Version 3.4, which went live on June 8, 2026 (UTC+8) and stays open until July 9, 2026. You need to be logged in during this window, since the quest only appears while the crossover is active.

It also helps to have your main story progress at Lahai-Roi, the part of Solaris-3 where the crossover narrative begins. Reaching that point removes the story gate that otherwise blocks the collab quest from starting.

Unlock Somnoire: Night City step by step

Start the collab quest Lahai-Roi Chapter III: Side Story – To the Stars Yet to Shine. Shortly after, Mornye contacts you through your Waveline with a request.

Finish the Waveline conversation, then head to the Spacetrek Collective. Interact with the door to enter the institute and talk to Mornye inside.

Respond to your Waveline a few more times until the objective points you back toward Startorch Academy. Teleport near the marker to find the entrance.

Look for the Somnoire door giving off an ominous red glow. Step through it to drop into the distorted memory space and begin the Edgerunners story.

Help Lucy track down her missing comrades. Move down the corridor and through the NCART train, where you run into Rebecca.

Take control of Lucy as she chases a phantom from her past. This introduces the hacking mini-game, which you use to bypass a locked door blocking the path.

Keep using quickhacks until you reach a set of laser beams. Enter hacking mode and use QuickHack on the camera at the far end, then swap to another camera on the NET to switch off the lasers.

At the cyberspace anomaly, run the Breach Protocol mini-game. This carries you to the bridge between the NET and the Blackwall before sending you back to the Academy.

Fight off the corpo enforcers that attack the Academy. Afterward you can find Lucy in the infirmary and Rebecca in the arcade as the pair settle in.

Head to the Collective Institute when it comes under attack from mysterious discords. Defeat them and keep following the story until you arrive in the City of Dreams.

How to confirm Night City is unlocked

You know the zone is open once you finish the quest and gain free control inside the City of Dreams. From that point the Somnoire stays available, letting you move around the Japantown district at will.

If the area still feels locked, the usual cause is an unfinished quest step. The Somnoire only becomes fully explorable after the final stretch of Lahai-Roi Chapter III plays out, so complete the remaining objectives before expecting open access.

What Night City offers once it is open

Somnoire: Night City recreates familiar Cyberpunk settings such as the Cherry Blossom Market, Arasaka Headquarters, and the city streets. The map adds its own hacking puzzles, letting you break into terminals, disable cameras, and open locks as you explore.

The zone also acts as the hub for the Night City Roaming event, which runs from June 8 to July 9, 2026. Clearing its exploration tasks and the Nightmare: Adam Smasher boss fight pays out Astrite and other materials.
