Version 3.5 of Wuthering Waves turns one of the game’s oldest starter characters into a featured 5-star and follows it up with a brand-new support tied to the same family. The update centers on two limited Resonators split across two banner phases, with the Electro Rover unlocking through the main story for everyone.
Quick answer: Phase 1 features Yangyang: Xuanling, a 5-star Havoc Sword main DPS. Phase 2 features Suisui, a 5-star Glacio Rectifier support. Both are confirmed through official drip marketing; banner dates remain estimates until Kuro Games runs the version livestream.

Wuthering Waves 3.5 banner lineup
Version 3.5 introduces two new limited 5-star characters across the standard two-phase structure. The drip marketing campaign locked in their elements and weapon types, even if the exact phase windows are still being treated as estimates.
| Phase | Character | Element | Weapon | Role |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | Yangyang: Xuanling | Havoc | Sword | Main DPS |
| Phase 2 | Suisui | Glacio | Rectifier | Support / healer |
Yangyang: Xuanling was the first character revealed for the version, with Suisui following second, which is why she takes the opening half. The two characters are written as sisters and share special intro voice lines, mirroring the kind of paired dynamic the game has used before.

No official launch date and time has been confirmed yet. Based on the roughly six-week version cycle, Version 3.5 is expected to go live in late July 2026, immediately after the shortened 32-day Version 3.4 wraps up on July 9. Treat every date below as a projection until the livestream confirms it.
| Banner | Estimated window |
|---|---|
| Phase 1 – Yangyang: Xuanling | Around late July 2026 |
| Phase 2 – Suisui | Around August 2026 |
Note: Pity counters and guarantees carry over from the current character event banners into both new limited banners, so progress saved during 3.4 is not lost.
Yangyang: Xuanling – Havoc Sword main DPS
Yangyang: Xuanling is an alternate 5-star form of the 4-star Yangyang that players have had since launch. The redesign drops her original beret-and-stockings look in favor of black-and-white hair and dark wings, and the story finally gives Yangyang a featured role after her Resonance ability mutates following an incident in Xuanfang City.
In combat she plays as a stance-dancing hyper-carry. Her kit swaps between sword stances, manages a unique resource to fuel powerful Heavy Attacks, and stacks Havoc Bane on enemies. Her Forte Circuit rewards clean execution with a large Crit. DMG buff, which places her among the higher skill-ceiling DPS units in the roster.
Because Havoc Bane shreds enemy DEF on application, she pairs naturally with Chisa, who applies that debuff through Unseen Snare. That combination is shaping up to be one of the strongest Havoc setups once 3.5 arrives, though it does mean she leans on a specific team to hit her ceiling.
Suisui – Glacio Rectifier support and healer
Suisui is a 5-star Glacio Rectifier built around the Havoc Bane archetype, with healing and damage amplification rolled into the same kit. She carries a Tacet Mark on her forehead in the same spot as Yangyang’s, reinforcing the sisters’ shared lore. In the story she is a senior director of the Zhaoming Merchant Guild of Mengzhou.
Her Resonance Liberation makes enemies affected by Havoc Bane take increased Havoc damage that ignores DEF and RES, while her Outro Skill grants up to 25% all-damage amplification that scales with Energy Regen. She can swap between two forms using her Resonance Skill, and even outside the Havoc Bane niche she works as a flexible healer with strong team buffs.
New 5-star signature weapons in 3.5
Both featured characters arrive with tailored signature weapons. Azure of Heaven supports Xuanling’s Havoc Bane and Heavy Attack loop, while Dew Imbiber feeds Suisui’s energy-hungry support kit.
| Weapon | Type | Key stats | For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Azure of Heaven | 5-star Sword | 588 Base ATK, 24.3% Crit. Rate | Yangyang: Xuanling |
| Dew Imbiber | 5-star Rectifier | 413 Base ATK, 77.04% Energy Regen | Suisui |
Azure of Heaven grants a 12% all-attribute damage bonus and, when the wielder applies Havoc Bane, amplifies Heavy Attack damage by 36% and ignores 12% of the target’s DEF for 8 seconds. Since Xuanling applies Havoc Bane across most of her kit, that buff stays up almost permanently. If you skip it, Emerald of Genesis is the standard free-to-play alternative.
Dew Imbiber raises max HP by 12%, restores Concerto Energy on Resonance Liberation, and applies the Kingfisher buff that boosts team ATK by 20% while the wielder is on the field. Its heavy Energy Regen substat directly powers Suisui’s Outro Skill scaling, making it the strongest match for her if you plan to main her.
Electro Rover unlocks for free in 3.5
The long-awaited Electro Rover joins the lineup during the main story, giving every player a new elemental form at no cost. It uses a weapon system that shifts between a crossbow and a shield mid-combat, paired with a moveset that blends pieces of the three existing Rover forms.
Early kit details point to mechanics like Sharpen & Charge, Sharpened Slash, and Counterattack, suggesting a more aggressive, stance-based playstyle than previous Rover variants. Because it unlocks through story progression, it does not require any pulls.
Leaked 3.5 rerun banners
Alongside the new characters, four Rinascita Resonators are expected to return on rerun banners. The banner order has not been revealed, so it is unclear which reruns pair with which phase.
| Character | Element |
|---|---|
| Brant | Fusion |
| Cantarella | Havoc |
| Carlotta | Glacio |
| Roccia | Havoc |
What’s confirmed versus what’s still a leak
The official X account has shown splash art and taglines for six Mengzhou Resonators under the 3.5 tag, including Hsin, Qingxiao, Jingran, Suoming, Suisui, and Xuanling. That tag appears to mark the broader Mengzhou story arc rather than a promise that all six release in Version 3.5. Only Yangyang: Xuanling and Suisui are positioned as the 3.5 banner characters.
Everything in the table below is currently leak-based and tied to later versions. Kits, elements, and release order can shift before each official reveal, so treat these as direction rather than fact.
| Character | Expected version | Leaked profile |
|---|---|---|
| Qingxiao | 3.6 | Aero Sword main DPS, sword-immortal styling |
| Jingran | 3.6 | Fusion Broadblade, shield/HP-scaling DPS |
| Hsin | 3.7 | Sentinel Resonator, likely Electro Rectifier |
| Suoming | 3.7 | Havoc Rectifier support |
If you are saving Astrite, the safe plan is to budget for Yangyang: Xuanling and Suisui first, since they are the only confirmed 3.5 features, and hold the rest until Kuro Games locks in the later banners. You can prepare in advance through the in-game shop or the official Wuthering Waves top-up page, but everything beyond the two 3.5 characters should still be treated as provisional.
