Wuthering Waves 3.7: Is Lucilla Worth Pulling in Her First Rerun?

Lucilla returns on her Tomorrow in the Frame banner, and her two Resonance Modes make the pull a close call.

Lucilla returns on her Tomorrow in the Frame banner, and her two Resonance Modes make the pull a close call.

Lucilla, the 5-star Glacio Rectifier and President of Startorch Academy, comes back to Wuthering Waves in Version 3.7 Phase 2 on her Tomorrow in the Frame banner. She debuted in Version 3.4 and has been absent longer than any other returning 5-star in this patch, so anyone who skipped her the first time gets a second shot now. She is a sub-DPS support with two distinct Resonance Modes, which is exactly what makes deciding on her tricky.

Quick answer: Lucilla is strong but not mandatory. Pulling her costs roughly 80–90 pulls for about a 10% damage gain over free alternatives in her best teams, so she is a value upgrade rather than a required unit.

When Lucilla’s rerun banner runs

Version 3.7 Phase 2 begins on October 22, 2026 and runs through November 11, 2026. Lucilla shares that window with two other character banners: Suoming’s debut and a Lynae rerun. Her signature weapon, Freeze Frame, sits on a paired weapon convene with no 50/50. Standard rates apply, with a 0.8% base 5-star rate and hard pity at 80 pulls.

That three-banner phase is the real pressure point. A free-to-play Astrite budget usually does not cover both reruns plus the new character, so the choice is less about whether Lucilla is good and more about whether she fills a gap your roster actually has.

Two Resonance Modes, two jobs

Lucilla’s gameplay centers on her Dual Resonance Mode system: the stance she occupies determines which team buffs her Resonance Liberation provides, so she should keep that stance until she can use the resources it generates. For a quick rotation, switch her in and activate Intro Skill, hold Resonance Skill, cast Resonance Liberation, then hold Basic Attack until the finisher automatically triggers. She remains on the field for about 15% of the rotation, leaving the other 85% to the main DPS.

ModeWhat it buffsKey numbers
Glacio ChafeGlacio RES shred, Glacio Chafe damage amp, Glacio Chafe status-8% Glacio RES (30s), +60% Glacio Chafe DMG amp (30s)
Echo SkillTeam Echo Skill DMG, Echo Skill Crit DMG, outgoing amp+25% Echo Skill DMG (30s), up to +40% Crit DMG, +50% amp on Outro (14s)

Her Inherent Skill “Slow Motion” drives both modes. In Glacio Chafe it drops enemy Glacio resistance by 8% for 30 seconds; in Echo mode it gives the whole team a 25% Echo Skill DMG bonus for 30 seconds. Her Outro Skill “Montage” then amplifies either Glacio Chafe damage by 60% or incoming Echo Skill damage by 50%, depending on which mode she left.

Glacio Chafe mode: built for Hiyuki

In Glacio Chafe mode Lucilla is the best-in-slot support for Hiyuki, and it is the clearest case for pulling her. She stacks three things Hiyuki wants at once: an 8% Glacio resistance shred, a 60% Glacio Chafe damage amplification, and consistent Glacio Chafe status application. That last part matters because Hiyuki’s Inherent passive “Fine Snow” needs two negative status effects active, and Lucilla keeps that condition fed.

Paired correctly, a Hiyuki, Lucilla and Suisui team lands around 2.55M DPR on a 27.5-second rotation, with Hiyuki doing the bulk of that damage and Lucilla contributing about 15% herself as a soft sub-DPS. That makes her the top Glacio team enabler right now.

Echo Skill mode: a flexible buffer

Her second mode makes her useful well beyond Glacio teams. Echo mode hands the team a 25% Echo Skill DMG bonus, up to 40% Echo Skill Crit DMG through four stacks of her Zoom passive (10% each), and a 50% Echo Skill DMG amplification passed to the incoming Resonator on Outro. The reason this is valuable is simple: Echo equipment substats cannot roll a direct Echo Skill DMG bonus, so a character supplying it from outside the gear is genuinely hard to replace.

That opens her up to Aero DPS Sigrika, Fusion DPS Galbrena, and Phrolova. The catch is that each of those teams has a working alternative, so her slot is contested rather than locked.

Where she can be replaced

Lucilla’s main weakness is that cheaper or free supports land close behind her in most teams. In Hiyuki compositions, swapping her out barely dents the numbers, and the Echo teams have their own stand-ins.

TeamWith LucillaAlternative
Hiyuki + Suisui2.55M DPRChisa + Suisui: 2.44M · Lynae + Suisui: 2.34M

Galbrena + Shorekeeper1.93M DPRBrant + Lupa: 1.75M
Phrolova1.79M DPR (with Qiuyuan)Qiuyuan + Cantarella: 1.66M

The Hiyuki comparison is the one to sit with. Suisui and Chisa together hit 2.44M, and Lynae with Suisui reaches 2.34M, against Lucilla’s 2.55M. That gap is real but small, and it is built from characters many accounts already own.

Team Performance & Role Requirement02:11Team Performance & Role Requirement

In Sigrika teams, Qiuyuan performs within roughly 3% of Lucilla. Galbrena teams can lean on Mortefi, Lupa, or Brant instead, and Phrolova runs fine on Qiuyuan and Cantarella. None of these swaps need an extra banner pull.

The cost against the payoff

The math is straightforward. Spending somewhere in the range of 77 to 90 pulls buys around a 10% damage increase over the free alternatives in her best teams. For a dedicated Hiyuki owner chasing top clear speeds, that is worth it. For anyone with a stacked roster and good existing supports, it is a thin return on a large pull cost.

Investment Cost & Future Value06:07Investment Cost & Future Value
The trade Lucilla asks for: around 80–90 pulls for close to 10% more damage. Shown at 06:07 in GachaHub’s video. Image: KURO GAMES

Her future value splits along her two modes. The Glacio Chafe side depends on more Glacio Chafe DPS units arriving, which is uncertain. The Echo Skill buffer side ages better, since the gear limitation that makes her useful there is unlikely to change soon.

Version 4.X is on the horizon, and past version jumps brought meta-defining mechanics like 2.X Negative Status and 3.X Tune Break. That history is a reason to keep some Astrite in reserve rather than empty it on a value upgrade.

How she stacks up against her banner mates

In Phase 2, Lucilla is one of three meta sub-DPS choices, together with Lynae and Suoming. Lynae provides versatile support for many different teams, so she’s the stronger option for flexibility over a specialist focused on one element. Suoming and Hsin are a top-tier meta pairing, making him the choice if that combination suits your plans.

That leaves Lucilla as the specialist of the group. She is the clear choice if you own Hiyuki and want the strongest Glacio team available, or if you run Echo Skill DPS units and value a buffer that gear cannot replicate. If your gap is somewhere else, the stronger, more flexible pull in the same phase is probably one of the others, and skipping her carries little risk given how close her free alternatives sit.
