The Seal Master of Mengzhou joins the roster as a 5-star Resonator, with a Phase 2 slot and an unannounced element.

Suoming is the second featured Resonator confirmed for Wuthering Waves Version 3.7, joining the game as a 5-star character alongside Hsin. Known as the Seal Master of the Ten Seals Covenant, she hails from the town of Huating in the region of Mengzhou and closes out the region’s cast in the current story arc.

Quick answer: Suoming is a 5-star Resonator releasing in Version 3.7 Phase 2, expected around October 21 or 22, 2026. Her element and weapon type have not been officially announced.

Who is Suoming in Wuthering Waves

Suoming was first shown on June 15, 2026, as part of a drip marketing wave that introduced the full Mengzhou cast, including Yangyang: Xuanling, Suisui, Qingxiao, Jingran, and Hsin. That reveal confirmed her name, splash art, and region, so her arrival in the game has never been in doubt.

She founded the Ten Seals Covenant as its Seal Master, and later served as Intendant of the Ministry of Sentinel Affairs. Her official description reads:

Born in Huating, Mengzhou, she founded the Ten Seals Covenant as its Seal Master to liberate her homeland from the Evil Miasma. Later, by the Sentinel’s decree, she served as Intendant of the Ministry of Sentinel Affairs, watching over all of Mengzhou.

Suoming release window in Version 3.7

Version 3.7 is expected to launch around October 1, 2026, with Hsin headlining the first phase. Each banner phase has typically run for 21 days, which places Suoming in Phase 2. Following that schedule, she is likely to become playable on either October 21 or 22, 2026. These dates remain estimates until Kuro Games runs the Version 3.7 preview broadcast.

CharacterPhaseExpected window
HsinPhase 1Around early October 2026
SuomingPhase 2Around October 21–22, 2026

Note: No official release date has been confirmed yet. The launch window is drawn from the game’s usual patch cadence rather than an announcement, so treat the timing as provisional.

Element and weapon: what’s confirmed and what isn’t

Kuro Games has confirmed that Suoming is a 5-star Resonator, but her attribute and weapon type are still unannounced. Leaks have shifted over time. Early reads pointed toward Havoc, while newer datamines describe her as an Electro character. Her weapon is similarly contested, with some leaks calling it a Rectifier and others a Sword.

Suoming’s design

Suoming carries red twin buns, a gothic outfit, and a flaming oil-paper umbrella, giving her a melancholic look that stands apart from the rest of the Mengzhou cast. Keyhole shapes are worked into her eye design, tying into her lock-and-chain naming theme.

One point clears up a common assumption. Her umbrella is a design prop, not her combat weapon. Wuthering Waves uses only five weapon classes, which are Sword, Pistol, Rectifier, Broadblade, and Gauntlet, so splash art props do not indicate her weapon class. Her deep red palette has also fueled element speculation, but color alone is not reliable, since red-palette characters already exist across multiple attributes.

Leaked role and Electro Flare synergy

The most repeated claim across every leak wave is that Suoming plays as a support rather than a main damage dealer. Her element and weapon move around, but the support label stays consistent, which matters more for pull decisions than her exact attribute.

If the Electro read holds, her kit is expected to lean on the Electro Flare and Electro Rage systems, building stacks through her attacks and converting them into extra Electro damage. Leaks also describe an Echo Skill support angle, which would let her boost teammates who rely on Echo Skill rotations rather than buffing the team generically.

That direction pairs her naturally with Hsin, whose leaked kit is built around Electro Flare, along with Suisui, who raises the maximum Electro Flare and Electro Rage stack limits inside her domain, and Electro Rover, the free 5-star who applies Flare stacks quickly. None of these kit details are official, and they can change before her preview broadcast.

For now, the settled facts are her name, region, 5-star rarity, and Version 3.7 Phase 2 placement. Her element, weapon, and full kit will be locked once Kuro Games airs the Version 3.7 preview broadcast in the run-up to launch.
