Kuro Games has pulled the curtain back on six new Resonators heading to Wuthering Waves, and the standout is a familiar name. Yangyang, the four-star companion who has been with players since day one, is getting a new form called Yangyang: Xuanling. She is joined by five other characters who are set to roll out across the 3.5 update and the versions that follow.

Yangyang: Xuanling, a five-star take on a day-one friend
The biggest talking point is Yangyang. Players have used her four-star Aero sword version since launch, and Xuanling looks set to be a higher-rarity rework. Her elements, weapon, and rarity have not been officially confirmed, but her artwork shows a tacet mark on her forehead that matches the design seen on other five-star units. The picture also shows her holding a blade, which points toward a broadblade or sword.
Of the six, Yangyang is the only one whose place in the story is already understood, since she is an existing character. Her five-star version is expected to play a central role in setting up the Rover’s return to Huanglong. She is also rumored to be the game’s first SP character, a “complete form” of an existing unit.
Where the Mengzhou cast fits in the story
With the Lahai-Roi arc wrapped up and the region’s final Resonator, Lucilla, released, the Rover is set to travel back to Huanglong. The next stretch of story leads to Huanglong’s capital, Mingting, and the area of Mengzhou. Because Mengzhou sits close to Jinzhou, this likely means a map expansion near the part of the world players first explored.
Like Jinzhou’s roster, the new characters lean into Chinese-inspired iconography and fashion, fitting their shared home nation of Huanglong. Suisui is described as a sword-wielding figure and as Yangyang’s younger sister, and the two are expected to share team synergy. Jingran is the sole male of the group, while Qingxiao, Hsin, and Suoming round out the female cast.
When the new Resonators are expected to release
Yangyang and Suisui are tipped to be the first two from this group, arriving in Version 3.5. That update is expected to go live around July 9 or 10, 2026, with Yangyang: Xuanling likely leading the banner lineup. The remaining characters are slated for the patches after it, as the story digs deeper into Mengzhou.
